Bruce is still doing a good job... this is a young team, give them time... I think we are in disparate need of a good shooter to step up... we dont have that lofton that at any given time can be automatic. This team will get better

We had a very veteran team last year and they did veteran things... It will happen again.

Buzz is actually the vice president of basketball operations for the Charlotte Bobcats in the NBA. He has actually done quite well for himself since being fired from Tennessee. The man knows the game.

What's the name of the guy that hired him?

It's Micheal something...

I don't claim to be a basketball expert by any means, but some of these threads are just a waste of space.

I hope Bruce turns this team around. I have to admit that we all got caught up with Bruce's early success but we now must see if he has any staying power.

So far it definately looks like he is coming back down to earth.

Didn't you get the notice that once Bruce came to Tennessee and got things headed down the right track, we were ushering in a 100 year reign of basketball dominance, and NOTHING, not even losing two great shooters from last season, starting multiple freshman this year, or playing a tough non-conference schedule was going to stand in our way. Noticeable improvement EVERY SEASON is what is to be expected if we are going to accomplish this, and if Bruce can't do the job, then we need to get someone who can.

Seriously though, these guys will get better. I'm starting to think it may not come soon enough to make a deep run this year, but eventually it will happen. People just need to calm down.

It would be different if we were getting better every once in awhile but the best game we have played was well over a month ago and it has just went downhill from there. We have got blown out by a terrible Temple team, hammered by a not very good Kansas team, lost twice to a Gonzaga team that has just lost to Portland State and Utah.

All of those are greater accomplishments than anything I can think of during Buzz's tenure, and I happen to like the guy.

The only reason Bruce should thank Buzz is for losing enough games to create an opening in Knoxville for Ernie Grunfeld to fill.

That's true, I'm pretty sure Buzz never put a team on the floor that could have even played with this year's Gonzaga. We've come a long way when we are freaking out because we are now 9-4.

I'm starting to question the bolded statement as it applies to this particular team. They are perplexingly bad in halfcourt defense. Have any of yall been to a practice? I'm curious as to what they do in practice. Clearly, they have not been taught how to play a zone defense.

Jerry Green, Wade Houston, Kevin O'Neill, Buzz Peterson? I'll stick with the guy we got. If you had told me 15 years ago that I would be logging on to the internet to catch the Vols play basketball, I would have thought you were crazy. Pearl is energetic and his teams are fun to watch. We'll be just fine. Nobody thought we would be undefeated. I'd rather lose a few now and hope we come together in time for the tourney.

What good is talent, if you can't coach it.

I heard a TV report one time talking about the way that Coach K coaches at Duke. Yeah, the man knows his basketball, but all he does, is gets the best talent he can, puts them on the floor, gives them an offensive set, and just lets them go at it, and use their talents. If you have talent, talent can win. We have talent, AND a great coach. We just have inexperienced talent, and developing talent. But that does not mean that our coach is bad, or that we should be complaining. When you play as many freshmen as we are...what do you expect? And our two veterans (Chism, Smith) are playing up to what they should be most games. It's all good, don't sweat it Vols fans.
