Bruce Pearl plan for Woolridge

:rock:We do not need more under developed shooters.
With Prince and Hopson's lack of effort, does Tatum, Chism, and Smith become our Big three?

Pearl must of read your post since Wooldridge is playing at the 4 when he enters the game.

As usual for this place, it took a page and a half of railing on one of our own to get a little perspective. Of course, this is the same fan base that will kill McBee because he isn't Chris Lofton by December of his freshman year. It's quite obvious that Woolridge has not comfortable in his body yet. I still wish he had been redshirted last year because I think he will be a decent player in a year, maybe two.

I think McBee will contribute to this program. No one is railing, just stating reality. Wooldridge has shown no real ability that would make you think he could be a decent post player.

Acting as if this board is off base because you HOPE he becomes what he has shown no remote hint of being. That's sensible.

If McBee plays next year, we have some serious guard problems. McRae, Golden, and Bone will take care of his minutes.

As usual, straight over your head. My criticism relates to the page and a half of mocking one of our own players. One guy finally analyzed the issue and gave an actual thought as to why he struggled, not just the glee in ragging on the kid too many here enjoy doing.

well mcbee isnt going to be close to lofton he is a spot up shooter at best. hopefully he will be the zone breaker for this team because as a whole we still dont shoot the ball very well.woolridge should have redshirted i personally think part of his problem is he is uncordinated and his body cant catch u p to what his brain is thinking. if it ever does he may turn into a decent player

Pearl's only plan for Woolridge should include super glue, a seat on the bench, and Woolridge's back-side.

Being 6'8" doesn't automatically make you a post player. He doesn't have the frame to be a post player. He is a 3 at best. Who knows, he could develop into a Trevor Ariza - type player. Regardless, I think Woolridge needed to be be redshirted. He needs the extra year in the weight room and to develop his game around it.

You don't know enough to send something over my head.

Regardless, you acted as if nobody here could undrstand your ludicrous idea about growing into his body, which is an wxcuse for weak and awkward. Using that lame point to act as if people here are somehow skewed by actually commenting on what he actually does rather than the prognostication of an inept homer is just piss weak.

You still don't get it and don't even try to pass it off as me not knowing enough. You haven't the faintest idea what I know and would run circles around you in basketball knowledge, so I would check yourself before you get too far on the ledge with your fellow hat disciples.

And, the "weak and awkward" statement is beyond dumb. Anyone who actually went through puberty, much less has a middle school understanding of how the body works, knows fast growth primarily causes, yes, awkwardness.

Once again, your crew demonstrates its total lack of analytical ability and the inability to do much beyond tear a player down when they don't perform immediately. It's quite obvious your group there is little more than people who watch basketball on tv. Due to your inability to analyze my post, you fail to realize that it was nothing like being an "inept homer".

Seriously, you guys are the most pitiful group I've seen. I have no idea what the fascination is with going on a message board in order to crap on a bunch of kids and their coach of a team you supposedly root for and then have the nerve to condescend and criticize those who might actually not appreciate that commentary on their own board.

I wasn't one talking about Woolridge. I simply refuted your silliness about growing into his body. Your reponse is actually freaking puberty. Have you been around college ballplayers too weak to do what they need? Have you been around college ball at all? Would any actual coaches of the game know who you are or ask your opinion?

You go through more gymnastics making up crap to support your homerism than anyone I've ever seen.

Kid yourself into believing that your basketball knowledge dwarfs mine, but you clearly don't spend time around anyone who knows the game. If you do, you're regularly shredded for absurdity. Now, remind me of the basketball genius you've added to the board? Transitive property of basketball? Relative greatness? hyped regular season wins and tales of a number one ranking? What else? What else have you added? Player development lies?

Go back to hoopsville and whine with those proud of besting Jerry Green.

You know damn good and well you went through puberty at 18. Fess up. When Renaldo grows into his body at 25, he's going to make some Aussie league team a Hell of a scorer.

Wasn't Renaldo Woolridge this size when he was being recruited in high school? Wouldn't that mean he has had two years to grow into his body?

If you start answering to the excuses from Mr. Carril there, you'll never stop. Soon we'll be measuring our coach by road wins within the state borders or some similar garbage.

Guess I will just go back to bashing him then.

Everyone tune in this week as Woolridge attempts to supplant JP as the true "Prince of Suck."

I see you have your duo here to support you and the added element of you three believing you own the board, telling people where to go to post their thoughts.

Clearly, you don't even bother to read my posts or know anything about my basketball knowedge or you might found out that I grew up playing under the winningest coach in Wisconsin history, playing against a local McDonald's AA and my best friend is an assistant coach at a university.

But, obviously, I've never been around basketball.....what the hell do I know.

I should really defer to you all who make up threads like this. Let's see, what's the formula? Oh yes, here it goes:

1. Make a topic about a player from UT.
2. Point out how much he sucks.
3. Spend 1-2 pages making jokes, nicknames, mocking him.
4. Tell any Vol fan (Who is stupid enough to troll around a Tennessee site) they are "homers" slurping the kool-aid or one of Pearl's anatomical parts if they deign to support the player.
5. Tell everyone how much smarter you are than them, hat's trademark (I haven't stooped to play this card until now, kind of disappointing), by some sarcastic remark or outright telling them
6. Continue this for a few pages.
7. Never under any circumstances say why a player is terrible. Just say he is, that's enough. No analysis about footwork, shooting technique or anything resembling an understanding the nuances of the game creating space, sealing your man in the post, etc. If you just say someone is stupid a bunch of times and make a bunch of sarcastic comments about a player, that will suffice for lack of actual knowledge.

Really, though, this whole BS you all spout is really tiresome. If you all hate everything about the Vols so much, take your ass to a Kentucky or Memphis board. They have plenty of your ilk there to make you feel welcome.

As for Woolridge, he's still a kid transitioning from having an outside position his whole to one where he's a late developer......please tell me if I'm going too fast here.....turning into a post player for a high major program. Once again, he needed a reshirt year because I think he'll be a contributor as an upperclassman. He won't be a 15-10 guy, but he won't be worthless, either. No, he's not producing now and will just be a bit player this year. However, I see no reason to sit here a bash one of my team's players like Woolridge is mentioned here. That's realistic, not homerism. Buy a dictionary.

Man, you're just wasting your time with these guys. I spent several hours arguing with these guys about Pearl's success. In the end, I realized it wasn't worth it. They don't like Pearl... period. end of it. Just come back at season's end, like i'm gonna do. Maybe they'll eat crow, maybe they won't. But you'll never change their mind about the UT program until Pearl is no longer coaching.
Truly sad, but true.
Go Vols!!!

He is simply playing post because he sucks at wing and might possibly suck less at post. It's not some type of metamorphosis as you portray it to be. The kid was a major bust; just call it like it is.
