The fact that will become obvious to even the densest among us is that the equation is simple. Bruce Pearl=Bobby Petrino.

I hope you are wrong, but would not be surprised if you are correct. Pearl has always been about Pearl and promoting himself.

Agreed 100% someone is turning into a money grubbing W@%*& I'm losing alot of respect for someone who four years ago was so happy he was coaching at this university now it's all about the "Benjamin$" All I can say CBP with the dimes comes "expectations" better live up to them, I remember someone not to long ago who thought they were untouchable.......

Elliot Ness? He goes back even before my time.

I want to know what makes so many people so sure that the next hire will be the wrong one.

I want to know why so many think we cannot do better than Pearl, which of course makes your question most valid. They must have inferiority complexes, since no logically thinking person can deny there are better coaches.

Well if Pearl is what some think he is. (Not a very good coach) MH is the one that hired him, and the last time I checked, he is still the AD at UT. Why are you so confident he would get the next one right. At this point, MH thinks Pearl was, and still is the man for the job.

Pearl has already exceed the average life span of a BB coach at UT in the last 20 years.

Have we hired one in the last 20 years?

He's committed to UT as long as UT pays him more then anyone else.
UT is committed to him as long as he continues to win.
That's the extent of loyalty in this era. :twocents:

Because UT fired 3 of the last 4 men's BB coaches. If UT could do better they didn't for a long time. Yeah Dickey was horrible at picking men's BB coaches.

There are better coaches but Tennessee isn't known for hiring good basketball coaches. Is Tennessee known to have a good basketball program? If Bruce could recruit some top notch talent maybe the program could make some noise. Or could he coach that talent to the next level? So many questions, so few answers.

“I truly love my job, and I want it to be clear that I’m not interested in any other job. There’s no place in the country I’d rather be than the University of Tennessee . My children are happy here in the Knoxville community?one is in high school, one is in middle school and two are currently attending the university.

Now take Urban Meyer on the other hand, he doesn't plan on staying at Florida long enough for his daughter to get her degree there, so she's going to Georgia Tech
