Bruce Pearl thinks worst may be over

Too brusque and off-putting IMO. Love him or hate him, the man still has a job to do, and a huge part of that is playing to recruits and to the public.

I disagree. The situation's done. He doesn't need to address it at all. I don't see not addressing it with ESPN hurting us in recruiting.

The PR game never stops, and "We accept and are moving forward" just sounds more personable than "I don't want to talk about it."

He can address the situation and represent to the recruits without calling the NCAA a bunch of pansies. A simple "We have resolved the situation and will respect the decision handed down by the NCAA. This matter is over and we will be moving forward henceforth."

Exactly. Except, "henceforth" sounds stupid, he shouldn't say that. :p

When you get caught telling recruits and their parents "This is a violation, keep it quiet," you are fscked. If Pearl seriously thinks that's all he's going to get, he's an idiot.

On point. As much as I dislike what he did, Pearl's gotta Pearl. It would seem calculated to change course mid-stream and act like someone he is not.

how dare he invite players that are thinking of committing to him for 4 years over to his house. Or call them too many times. What heinous violations. And to lie to the NCAA investigators. OMG, how could he make them actually do their job!!

He's not helping his case by telling Andy Katz he doesn't think the gameday suspension will effect the team that badly. If you're going to claim you've been hidestrapped already and shouldn't be penalized further, it probably isn't wise to minimize the effect of your sanctions.

Most of us learned early on, don't tell Dad that the last spanking didn't hurt...

The NCAA has to add something to the punishment, if nothing else to save face.

How amazing that some of the people on hear telling Bruce to shut up are the same ones always ripping him a new a##hole every time he does something they dont like. Free speech is free speech to all. Not just the VN know it alls. And by the way, is that car in the ditch the same one Obama is trying to push out of the ditch?

Obviously honesty isn't something you care about. Like when you said if UT football didn't win at least 7 regular season games this year, you'd never post here again.

I agree. If he is going to say anything, he should be talking about how devastating this is to him and the basketball program and how difficult it will be to overcome these sanctions.
