anyone who wants to get rid of bruce pearl because of what is happening on the court needs immediate medical attention.

if you want him gone because of the stuff involving the ncaa, that's a different argument.

Not really devastated by the loss. More extremely disappointed in the lack of effort and the fact that we looked like an intramural team that drinks before their games.

Devil's advocate, I'll throw a question out there. A coach's job is to get the best out of his players at all time and to improve their game. Up to this point, have the players that UT has had on the court under Pearl played below or above their talent level on a consistent basis? If you answer at or above their level, then Pearl should be our coach. If you answer below level, then he is not doing his job. So what do you think VolNation?

I've always been skeptical of Bruce's schemes. Does it work against some teams? Sure it does. But it isn't going to get a program from Tier 2 to Tier 1. The NCAA sanctions are just the icing on the babka.

i still believe tennessee will make the ncaa tournament.

if so, pearl will set the record for most consecutive tournament appearances for the men's basketball program.

he's already tied the mark at 5 in a row. (1979-1983 was the other period).

for the most part, in my lifetime tennessee basketball has been a complete joke until bruce pearl arrived.

if you want to get rid of him, dial "m" for moron.

yea...we aren't a joke right now. We have showed everyone that he is bigger than the program. He can lie and get in trouble but it is ok. People laugh at us wondering why he is arould.

but, no, tennessee is not a joke. he lied. he was stupid.

but, people don't look at tennessee the way people are looking at auburn with the cam newton situation.

or tennessee football with lane kiffin for that matter.

I still contend that Hamilton should have fired Pearl when he found out about the lying. But we should all be glad that he did not, and barring any new allegations, the moment of decision is passed.

During Pearl's tenure we have overachieved like no one else in the country.

BP is top 5 in active winning %. UT was basically on a self imposed NCAA ban for many years because we were lucky to make the NIT. :"Not sure about his schemes-not sure if his players get better-the program will be fine without him", etc-. UT won 8 games in their history of the NCAA tourney prior to BP. They have won 8 since he arrived. Yeah, it would be brilliant to run him off over a panicked answer about a bbq.

Now, to more important matters. Did CBP look like he has gained 15 pounds on TV, or was that just me? Can Brandy cook? Seriously, he did not look so good.

Yeah, if there's on trait you DO NOT want in a coach, its the ability to make critical decisions in pressure-packed situations with a lot at stake.

Maybe this year but we overachieved the past couple of years barring two years ago. I mean elite 8 with all the players we had kicked off that year.........I'm glad none of our fans are in charge of the program. We would have a new coach after every lose.

Just like Memphis, that was turned down by any quality coach. And ended up with an inexperienced young coach.

More likely because Pearl and Hamilton are forever linked and if one goes they both go.

The fact that your interest only started with Bruce explains why you think the way you do. How good was UT before Pearl, again? Regardless of what happens to Pearl, his tenure will not be erased. The team did go to the Elite Eight and has multiple Sweet Sixteen appearances. If UT could bring in a Bruce Pearl after Buzz, then why must we return to losing if we fire Pearl?
