Bruce Pearls honeymoon is over. Its time to be a real coach. Will that ever happen?

last year we played some close games and won most of those. this year we have played some close games and lost several of them. I think its a matter of the young guys still adjusting, gaining confidence, and getting experience. I think we will be fine...sooner or later. Hopefully sooner.

Geez, JP Prince needs to watch film on Tim Duncan and learn how to use the glass. If I see him drive to the basket one more time and throw it off the upper half of the backboard I will snap. Not even close to making it. It looks like when Gary Payton use to bounce it off the backboard for Shawn Kemp to dunk except JP is actually trying to make a shot.

I know some of you just don't "get" this, but this team has not been together long. Yes, we should have beat Memphis, but we did not get blown out, and coaching was certainly not the reason we lost. It was sound. There was just no execution, no penetration, and too many young players overthinking their role on this team. It will get better. Bruce Pearl is a premier coach, this is a premier program now and to be honest, this is about as bad as it will get for us EVER under Pearl. We will only continue to improve. We are more talented than we have ever been and that will pay off when this team gets some experience.

Guys some of you are worried and for good reason. however what I have seen the last two games is better defense, someone other than Tyler step up (chism) I have never been big on chism but he is showing something I haven't seen out of him, heart. However the knee bar he pulled after being fouled was unexcusable. the other three are coming along, still play like dumbaces on occasion but that will stop with maturity. maze needs to calm down, he gets out of control. The one thing we need is a general on the court and we're a few games from that. We have one on the sideline. This team will be competing for a championship in a few short years.

What do a 2 point loss and a 20 point loss have in common?

I think the fringe element of this argument is pretty ridiculous, but there have been some glaring weaknesses in the coaching this year. It has been visible in wins and losses alike.

I don't know if it is a weakness in coaching or personnel.

Sometimes the pieces just don't fit.

this is all bullstuff man......tennessee is gonna be fine. Damn you act we've always had a winning season and a winning program. We've got all the tools to win the SEC and go deep in the tournament. I know one thing tennessee basketball will always be good from here on out....mark it down....2009-till whenever we will ALWAYS be contenders...i guarantee a national championship in there somewhere down the road

Unreal how many of the posters going off about Bruce now were the ones saying he was the greatest thing since sliced bread and Hamiltom made the best decision in hiring him and getting someone like him here in Knoxville and now you all are firing off on him...Yes we lost a few and are not near as good and we thought because we do not have a perimeter shooter but look at what we used to be...HELLO!

Our guard play hasn't been very good all year. In all do respect, the guard positions are extremely inexperienced. CBP is doing the best with what he has. Maze, Hopson, Woolridge, Tatum are all first year players, and we are half way through the season. We are a very young team, and a team that I personally am very optimistic about.
