I was just wondering, didnt he have to sit out a year last season because of transfer. so this will be his soph yr?
Im anxious to see how he does. I saw alot of potential with him behind montario, wish we coulda kept him around. Why did he leave? Was it because of his brother going to Kansas St and to be closer to home or did he just not like it at Tennessee or the new coaching staff? Makes me wonder what path Tennessee was going down if lane was still here. Would we have won titles or just got into more trouble? I wish we could have kept some of the Kiffin talent though.

50 yards on 300 carries is what he will get this year.

Honestly I really don't care. Bet he goes over 1,000 though.

No ill will to Bryce. It seemed that he would have preferred to stay here.

I just wish that we could have gotten the presser.

He4 did have to sit out but he could use lastyear as his RS year since he played here as a true freshman. I hate he let his father make the decision for him. Sounded like he definately wanted to be here. thats why I just didnt understand all the hate people had for a 18-19 year old. Pretty sad.

BB will start out in the doghouse at KSU. He chose not to participate in the summer workouts with his teammates.

"Has Snyder seen the same leadership from Bryce Brown, Arthur’s younger brother?

“They’re different in that respect,” Snyder said. “I haven’t seen the same thing out of Bryce.”

Is that a disappointment, given the lofty expectations created for the Tennessee transfer?

“It’s just the way it is,” Snyder said. “They’re just two different people. Bryce hasn’t put himself in the same position Arthur has.”

Bryce is the more heralded of the two brothers, in part because he plays a more glamorous position. He was the country’s top recruit when he signed with the Volunteers, and he was the one named to the All-Big 12 team before taking a snap at K-State.

“That’s your fault, not mine,” Snyder told reporters.

Right now, though, there’s a chance Brown won’t even be K-State’s No. 1 running back when the season opens, and that seems to be more than just an empty threat.

“Bryce’s situation is such that there are three, maybe four guys that are very competitive for that spot,” Snyder said. “He really hasn’t gained that (separation). Leadership is pretty hard unless you’re the No. 1 guy.”

Good season or not , I won't be suprised at all if he declairs for the NFL draft after this season.

I'm thinking my 1000 yd prediction looks like crap right now.

You may be right. but he has Fall practice to get right. Could be he really doesnt want to be there and he isnt happy. He loved UT and wanted to stay there. Really wish he had told his Dad I am staying a Vol and screw K.State. But alot of parents have strangleholds on kids and do what they want them to do. Its very sad. I am a Die Hard Vol and want my son to go to UT when he gets to that age. But if he tells me he wants to go to Bama,Auburn,Florida or somewhere like that i would support him. Wouldnt be happy about it but I love him and it would be his choice. But he is just 7 and i am raising him all Vol and thats with us living in alabama and his mom a UAT fan. But he favors UT right now, just hope it sticks. He plays baseball and not football, so i wouldnt have to ever worry about pulling for him in another teams football uniform. but my point is you have to let your kids grow up and do what they want and not what you want for them. I will be pulling for Bryce and hope he does well. I know several parents like his dad and hate it for the kid. Would loved for him to have stayed here where he wanted to be. thats why i have hated to see the dislike alot of UT fans have towards him, some kids will just do what their parents say and want. So hoping he wins the job and has a great Career.

Huge screw up for Bryce. Summer work outs are voluntary in name only.

It puts Snyder in a no win situation.

If he starts BB, it's not going to go over with the guys that have been busting their ass all Summer.

If he doesn't start him, he may not put himself in a position to win very many games.

The other players on the team don't care what he was rated out of high school, they just wonder why they are out working in the sun and Bryce is sitting in the dorm drinking lemonade.

It is possible that Bryce is lacking work ethic; it is just as much of a possibility that he would rather work out on his own back in Wichita (who knows, he could be training with Barry Sanders). The only true statement appears to be that Bryce was not invlved in voluntary team workouts. This lack of participation should be a reason to not be team captain; however, if he is the best running back on the team (if), then participation in voluntary activities should not factor in to whether or not he starts.
