Yeah Redbird stadium is really nice. And you get to see major league talent nightly....I just wished it was located somewhere besides downtown. Just a few steps away is one of the most dangerous areas in Memphis....and that's saying something.
Haven't been back in years but it wasn’t horrible around the park when we lived there…as long as you walked in the right direction when you left. If I remember right, there was a shooting at a club close to Beale St & the mayor at the time had the police line up from sidewalk to sideway & forced everyone out at like 2am. It got a lot safer after that, at least while I was there. Idk, maybe I’m remembering it wrong though. It was like 18 or so years ago.

Trust me…it is extremely dangerous. Currently loading up the area with officers and charging an “admissions fee” to Beale Street area. Shootings are common place especially in and around the FedEx forum area. Very sad state of affairs. Drive by’s are not uncommon either. If I were younger I would be more inclined to take a chance like we used to do and go to more games. I worked in a career that dealt with crime in those areas and it has not been safe in a long time regardless of what is proposed to the public. I don’t care how much money you throw at it…money will not change the crime.
