BTO’s Arkansas Postgame Report

Does this Really Matter? Dykes has a job to do as a Commentator and should be a professional in his comments. I have never heard more Arkansas This and Arkansas that.....but it does not matter who the other team we face Dykes always gets to a point and seems to favor in commentary moreso the opposing teams when it comes to UT.....
He seems to go out of his way not to give this Team the sometimes Credit it deserves.
I’m not saying it does or doesn’t matter. I’ve just noticed that he often gushes over our opponents and I though that might be why.

From BTO's post, "you throw in an expected Memphis W and that’s 24-7". I thought the NCAA ruled if a team cannot play due to covid then they forfeit the game, so we should have gotten a W. Is that not true or was it not a covid thing?

This will probably be a win at the end of the tournament with a big * stating Forfeit due to Covid adding a win to the our total.....NCAA will move at their own pace....

I want to put a stopwatch on some of that end of game time. Seems like 1:30 to 0:20 lasted about 15 minutes. The game nearly came to a complete stop around 8:00. 5 minute stoppages for the reviews are out of control. Instead of reviews, when there were plays too close to figure out, refs would just call a jump ball/alternate possession. That seemed to work much better than the endless reviews.

Refs have too much effect on every single game. Chandler, James, and Fulk all with 4 fouls down the home stretch. Arkansas had a similar situation. Basketball shouldn’t be about putting up 60 free throws. The rules interpretation is as annoying as the flopping in football. But maybe half of rosters do need to be fouled out to do something about the they won’t call every foul strategy.

Totally agree. 50 fouls called in that game. If hand checks and ticky-tack fouls are gonna be enforced (sometimes, because we all know it's totally subjective), let's increasing the fouling out number from 5 to 6. Too many games are impacted when a player picks up those 2 quick fouls in the first 5 minutes and has to sit the rest of the half, which seems to be a universal maxim amongst coaches now.

6 fouls or unlimited fouls but every foul called after the 5th awards the shooting team one or two shots PLUS the ball. The refs are worse than injuries at determining which team has an advantage.

Tennessee basketball honored its senior players, managers and support staff Saturday before the Vols faced Arkansas.

Vols guard Victor Bailey Jr. was not among those recognized. He elected to not participate.
"We love VJ," Vols coach Rick Barnes said. "We love him being part of our program. He chose he didn’t want to do it.”

Bailey played 90 seconds in No. 13 Tennessee's 78-74 win against No. 15 Arkansas at Thompson-Boling Arena. He has had an inconsistent and often minor role for the Vols as a senior, but has had a pair of great outings during the second half of the season.

Bailey has a year of eligibility remaining due to the NCAA granting an extra year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. He could choose to use it at Tennessee or transfer for the final year.

Bailey, who turns 24 in September, could also choose to pursue a professional career.

Can' t Stand Dykes he is pro Arkansas. I will bet he used the Arkansas Word yesterday 5 to 1 more times than Tennessee.
He made more excuses for Arkansas yesterday than was needed.
When they state FF teams in there projection We are an afterthought and lumped in with a group of 4. Alabama gets more pub as a final 4 contender than Tennessee.
Right now we are an Afterthought for most of these Media Sites probably based on our past performances and we could win the SECT, but we would still be a FF afterthought.
It was almost like he was willing the comeback.
I compare his coverage of UT games to Dane Bradshaw. Bradshaw calls a pretty good game and never overtalks UTK or an Opponent. Dykes on the other hand is a moran and really never talks about the Teams potential.

Yep…BVS. All doubt removed.

Pretty good for an overpaid coach who is a lazy recruiter coasting to retirement who runs an outdated offense...lol.

Not to mention that the best seats are filled with a bunch of stuffed shirt blue hairs who sit on their hands and do nothing. Sure wish they did more like Arkansas and Auburn fans do. 🙄

Sorry this is might be a dumb question, but I have seen others say “blue hairs” and what exactly does that mean and why?😂

Chandler's FT issues are most unfortunate. Late in games, you see a concerted effort by Tennessee to keep the ball out of his hands when nursing a small lead when the opponent is in an obvious foul situation. How is it that a kid who shot nearly 90% free throws in HS goes below 60% in college?

He, along with the rest of the team, needs to spend more time looking at
the goal and less time looking for someone to slap hands with after shots.

Refers to the blue hue of people with silvery/gray hair.
Check out a song from a comedy duo named Pinkard and Bowden. It’s to the tune of “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain”. Their version is “Blue Hairs Driving in My Lane”.

Wasn’t a NCAA rule, conferences were implementing that iirc but then changed it up.

He was 2-3 last game? Again it’s mental and it’s been talked about ad-naseum. Are they a big deal yes but KC gets dogged more than every player on this team and the ****** part is he is one of the biggest reasons we are winning these games. He is his own worst enemy and he will correct them, so continuing to talk about it is getting old when there are so many other positives to talk about and quite a few obvious negatives from other players that effected the game way more egregiously than 3 missed free throw attempts..
Shooting FT's are very important; just ask Coach Cal and the U. of Memphis.

We used to have a Witch Doctor that used to hang out around the old KNS site. Don’t know what happened to him though.
I got chicken 🐓 bones and Mardi Gras beads. Does that count?
…I got a few spells too…
