BTO’s North Carolina Postgame Report

Whatever, maybe we should just put these 19 year olds in a wheelchair and push them around campus all week since they get exhausted so easy. This will keep them fresh for the game.
Makes u wonder what kind of Geritol Elixir Barnes had waiting for them in the locker room at half time. Woke them up enough to come out and actually play defense in the second half. Like to have some of whatever it was.

Just out of curiosity, when was the last time you sought to recover from an extended west to east eight hour flight? ✈️
I have took several long flights east and west and never needed 5 days to recover. Sluggish for a couple of days tops. I was older than that for all of them. Yall come up with all the stupid excuses you can muster up. Doesn't matter. The game still counts the same and it's still a loss. I'm sure your coming up with something for tonights game just in case the teams performs poorly. You can always blame it on the refs if all else fails .

Yeah, it's weird that they recovered from that flight that nearly left them dead right at half time when Barnes lit them up for poor play.

I didn’t realize that you were a high level athlete that managed to squeeze in 3 games in 3 days versus P-6 competition between your 10 hour flights. Obviously UNC was playing on equal ground in the Dean Dome and Barnes should be fired for not having the boys ready to run them out of their gym. He should have told Awaka to rub some dirt on his boo-boo and get out there too.

And your first inclination is to tell us why they might lose, and it's usually coming right out of your rear end.

Just come off the stupid excuses. You mentioned Awaka. He was actually hurt and missed a game we needed him in. That would be an actual issue that impacted the game.

That was an ACC challenge game. Not much wiggle room and certainly pre determined without input from Barnes. But he ain’t skeer’d.

I bet the jet lag ran out exactly at half time of that North Carolia game according to the jet lag calculator. Hence the turnaround in the second half.

I said it isn’t an excuse. I said that UT would rarely go in to Chapel Hill and come away with a win under ideal conditions. Flying that much, playing those teams on back-to-back-to-back days, playing at the Dean Dome, having Awaka with a bad ankle, ZZ still not 100% and limited minutes practicing with 4 or 5 newcomers, and pulling off a win at UNC wasn’t going to happen.

But I’m not going to whine about the loss like you and the Bashers are always so eager to do after any non-perfect outing. No doubt if UT stayed in the neighborhood for a Thanksgiving tournament, UNC flew across the planet twice, and UT were to beat UNC at the TBA you sad posters would be downplaying the win because UNC was at a disadvantage. Your act is stupid.

Well there are a million tiny possible advantages and disadvantages. Syracuse came back played a day earlier than us and played their best game of the year. The bottom line is that you find a way to get it done or you don't. Losing at NC isn't a big deal anyway to me and I didn't whine or bash anybody. Had we not come out in the second half and righted some wrongs it would have been very concerning.

I’m condensing a long conversation, but factually Santi has been frustrated in practice with ball movement and the looks he is getting. Knecht has a constant green light to shoot or drive. That is not true of others. Why he’s frustrated is conjecture, but coming from inside. I know Barnes yelled at him about attitude/defense in practice. He obviously had a short leash at UNC, but he was also fouling too much. I’m sure the drama is less than it appears and I don’t think it will last. Santi has always been a team first player.
It seems that maybe Santi has gotten over the hump of this situation given that he looked better on Tuesday. Of course he still passed on way too many open 3s that he should have taken especially in the first half.
