Buchner to Bama

Think some of you are being a little premature on bama's demise. They don't have to have a great quarterback to win there because they have 5 stars stacked at every other position on the field. They will still be really good and unfortunately most likely competing for the conference and/or national championship.

LSU or A&M will win the West this season not Bama. Wouldn’t shock me at all if Bama lost three conference games this season

College football is more like the NFL every day.

Decent move by Bama. That will be a hard win for us in Bammerville this year regardless of who the QB is with his number on his helmet.

I do note a peculiar difference on this forum:

A number of folks here have offered a reasonable opinion of the move, good and bad. But I do not detect a small but fierce group of 'VolTiders' aggressivel;y defending the move.

BUT

If this had been Flowbee McSupercuts making the move for uga, the VolDawgs in here would have swung into instant, aggressive action, telling us all how smart it is (pun intended), how deep uga is at QB in any event, and just how badly we will lose to them this season. Still the darnedest thing I've seen in here.

Many of those 4 and 5 stars are leaving Bama early, either to play pro football or to enter the transfer portal. Bama's defense is nowhere as elite as it used to be. The tea-baggers could lose 3 games this season. All the teams with established QB's, such as LSU and Arkansas, will have a chance to beat the tree-killers.

A mediocre Texas team had them beat with a healthy Bryce Young. Alabama is on the downturn.

I don't see how any of the Bama QB's would help themselves transferring here if they want to be a starter. They would stuck behind Nico the next 2 yrs.

Thats why they shut down our offense last year. All those 5 stars they had.

I look for Simpson to transfer to Vandy, SC, Memphis, or to go play for his dad.

Maybe heupel can thread the needle and get him here as a solid back-up option. The Covid class of QBs are a bust.

Why would Simpson come here to be a backup when he already has that position locked up at Bama :eek::eek:

I don’t think anyone is predicting a losing season this year. But Bama fans love talking about how “we were one play away twice from undefeated” without saying the other hard truth which is they were also only one play away twice more from losing two more games

The question is, is Alabama more vulnerable this year? Losing Young hurts for sure, he was an excellent game manager for his team. There are just too many unknowns for me to be comfortable saying Alabama will be better than last year.

Without a doubt though they have the game against us circled and will be ready to give their all against us. But so will we.

So Bama's QB room now looks like:

Jalen Milroe (#12 QB in '21)
Tyler Buchner (#14 AB in '21)
Ty Simpson (#2 QB in '22)
Eli Holstein (#7 QB in '23)
Dylan Lonergan (#12 QB in '23)

I'm sure 3-4 of those guys will be happy as career backups, never seeing the field. No drama ahead for the Bama QB room at all.
A bunch of 3*s
