Bucs Fire Jon Gruden (merged)

I crack up every time they mention "defensive coordinator" Raheem Morris.

I know that's the guy's official title now, but he's been the DC for what, a month?

Anyway, the reason I mention Morris is that John Clayton just mentioned him as a possible candidate via phone.

Alot of people in Tampa really like Raheem Morris.

Slightly different situation, the Redskins hired Jim Zorn as offensive coordinator last year, then a few weeks later the Redskins hired him as the head coach. He went from being the Quarterback coach for the Seattle Seahawks, to being the Head Coach of the Washington Redskins.

This is great news. I see no reason to believe that Gruden won't be coaching receivers at UT next year.
Bwaaaaaahahahaha... The first thing I thought when I heard Grudo had been fired was too bad he didn't take the Vols job. The second thing I thought was "wonder what position he can coach?"

Can we Fire lane and Take Gruden?

When I read nonsense like this, I begin to wonder why I bother even going to these forums.

We have Lane Kiffin along with the best staff in college football, and then we hear this nonsense. Jon Gruden, nor anyone else could have brought about this staff. Why can't everyone get positive and see what develops, or had we rather revert back to what we just came thru in 2007?

We have a fantastic staff with the potential of getting a lot of great recruits, as well as seeing some great coaching.

Of course, we could just sit around and moan and groan and watch everyone leave like Steve Spurrier has been doing.

We would not of wanted Jon Gruden as HC here. I doubt any college would, he hates grooming players, he wants pre-packaged players. And he didnt want to come here at all so dont even worry about it, he might of taken the offer now but before he didnt want to so forget him.

Oh and here's a quote from him to his staff when all the talk about him coming to UT was swirling...."No F***ing way I am going to Tennessee".

I have family in tampa and a cousin works at the airport. He just texted me saying one of the Glazer's jets just took off headed for mcghee tyson. He's working on getting the flight # for me.

They dropping of JG in exchange foe the two Kiffins, or they just coming to say all this "inside" info was just a hoax to scare us off our high horse for a few days.

Dungy just "retired" didn't he?

That would certainly make for a compelling story if it happened, but I'd be shocked.

Dungy's built a reputation for himself as a man of faith, honesty, and character.

Holding a disingenuous "retirement" press conference, while working in collusion with another organization to replace its unsuspecting head coach...that'd just destroy Dungy's reputation.
