Tennesee ranked number 1? Is this bulletin board material? You bet it is. Georgia really has something to prove against the Vols now. And if the Vols think they're truly number one? They're gonna have to prove it! Go vols!

I think the pressure is more on Georgia. If Tennessee loses, it is expected and still a great season.

If Georgia loses, it derails all their hype and expectations for 2022.

However, due to nature of matchup, neither side will need bulletin board material. That only matters in games with huge underdogs that are not the "Game of the Year" type games.

UGA needs zero extra bulletin board material. Imagine we win the championship this year, we start 9-0 next year and all the media does is gush over a rival of ours that is having an unexpected complete breakout year, and mostly ignore us. UGA feels beyond disrespected since about the time we beat Bama.

No.
They're favored.

And they still have to play regardless of who's favored.
So no

I think both teams have plenty of motivation this game. I doubt a slight flip in rankings is going to sway much. It's a huge game. Both teams are gonna be ready to rock.

I don't think this team is affected by outside noise. They're so laser focused. Of course they do throw some shade after wins Re: Levis "real football" comments lol so they do see that stuff but still. I don't think it has any effect whatsoever on their their preparation.

Any time the higher-ranked team is considered to be the underdog, that is the ultimate disrespect. So our guys have plenty of motivation to be fired-up.

But as others have said, this team seems to be so even keel that I don't know if it really matters.

Tennessee hasn’t defeated Georgia since 2016, and the last 2 seasons Georgia has embarrassed Tennessee.

That’s why I’m not overreacting to Tennessee being ranked number 1 before they play the 3rd ranked Bulldogs in Georgia.
The Bulldogs have a great defense that realistically can hold the Volunteers under 30 points, and most likely Tennessee won’t be scoring quick the way they did Vs Kentucky, and Alabama.

Georgia doesn't really "live in our head" like Alabama and Florida always seemed to. If you can hold this Tennessee offense to under 30 points you will be doing something nobody else has been able to do. Good luck (not really tho)

I think the ratings help both teams for different reasons.

For UT, getting the #1 tag reinforces their belief that they can take it all this year, they are not pretenders, they are the number 1 team and now people are recognizing it.

For GA, getting #3, gives them a chip on their shoulder for being "disrespected" as the undefeated defending NC.

Both teams can use it as motivation for their players and I am sure both coaches will.

I agree except this in Georgia so the thundering crowd will be challenging for the Volunteers, and because Tennessee will most likely have to use drives more than 2 minutes to score points vs Georgia.

Yes I’ve been saying this since last night and people are overlooking it there is a lot more pressure on Georgia than there is Tennessee because of the playoff and that Georgia does not play Alabama or anybody else any good the rest of the season after Saturday if they don’t go to SECTG

Our offense does not get enough credit for physical drives we absolutely run the ball enough actually more than we throw it and we had several running drives in different games this year go back and watch the Kentucky game for example!
All the media people keep saying oh Tennessee’s finesse blah blah blah which is not true so let them keep thinking we’re finesse let Georgia keep thinking we are finesse and then when we come out there and punch them in the mouth what’s gonna happen?

I’m confident Tennessee can succeed by defeating Georgia in Georgia by playing a great game which is achievable.

However I’m not a rose colored Volunteers football fan which is why I’m fearful of the realistic possibility the Bulldogs defeat the Volunteers by outplaying them.
