What do the women look like. We haven't occupied a country with beautiful women in a looooong time.
They are asian and dirt f##king poor and brutalized by their own government for a long time so it would be awesome for easy tail. No burkas to fumble through only to find a suicide vest...or IED's to step around..

I was digging through some of my old military stuff and found a gerber multi tool I always carried..still has sand in it from some god forsaken country I was in. Only sand in Burma? On the Letkhokkon beach!

Then there's this:

Biden admin likely to keep US troops in Afghanistan amid escalating violence, stalled talks

Because "it came from Trump" is a really good excuse to stop such a thing.

ETA: Not the right link, but that one is appropriate as well.

Here's the one I wanted to post:

Biden to freeze Trump’s withdrawal of U.S. troops from Germany

As a kid that grew up a military brat, there is nothing more fun than living in a foreign country where the locals hate your ass and Germany is certainly one of those. Why in the hell we need to have troops in Germany 75 years after the end of WW2 is a mystery to me.

Never got that impression when I was there.

The locals LOVED the money we spent.

They might have loved your money, but hated you. I was there in the 60's so maybe times have changed.

Nah, they were indifferent to us for the most part.

Maybe they just didn't like you in particular?

The only thing I've ever come up with in that respect is our policy makers believe we need a large military for contingencies ... probably somewhat correct. Since we basically can't use the military on our own soil (even to protect our southern border from invaders), then we've got to stash them someplace. Troops in Europe and especially Germany up to the end of the Cold War made sense; after that it's pretty doubtful - except as a place to keep people so they don't cause too much attention here. I think we'd be better off letting our European "buddies" handle their own defense; it might even force them to back off on their socialism that our feeble minded so admire.
