Thanks VM.

Gillespie..."It's not fair for them to judge me on some mistakes I've made in the past, is it?"

Yeh...we've kinda let the gator thing slide coach G.

I ignored everything Gruden, so I didn't know about that.

I followed it closely, cant remember the writers name but pretty much straight up said Gruden was coming 100%. Was supposed to print a story why it didnt happen but never wrote it.

The Gruden talk was all internet chatter.......until the TFP got involved. That swayed many (including me). It was so detailed.

Alas, they made a mistake. It happens. They still do a good job.

I don't like the sound of that article. I know it's only spring practice, but I was really counting on the running game to carry the offense this season.

"Neal ran hesitantly and missed a open hole, Jones asked for another running back over the microphone he carries with him during practice and inserted Lane"

I mentioned that I liked Lane over Neal for this reason in another thread and caught so much crap for it

Ive learned to not worry or get excited about about spring performances. But I do love following just to cure my craving for footvol. Also with a new staff, players are bound to struggle early. Fear not Aesius!!

Neal has always been hesitant and gets tackled by the foot entirely too much for a starting rb in the SEC. Seems like a good person, but with his speed and size, he should be hitting the hole with force and looking for daylight for his speed. That he is listed as so fast in the 40 and 100, but hasn't had a breakaway run says a lot.

Previous staff was all over him to hit the hole early on last year til he go dinged up. At that point they let him start to try and stretch things more. I like him a lot and hope he does well - just hasn't show that flash

Rbs have to be completely retrained on how to hit the hole, trust the hole, quit bouncing everything outside. Gonna take a lot of reps, coaching, playing time threats, etc. I think theyll be ready to go this Fall.

It is the same backs that were not effective runners last season. It is not surprising at all that they are not markedly better.

He had three runs that should have broke against UF. They were playing double zone and the middle was open. Neal got tackled by a falling lineman once and a backer the other times. The defenders were being blocked and should not have made the play. But they did, because we were/are lacking at tailback.

I actually thought they were effective. Not stellar, but effective. Keep in mind, that was Raijon's first time as the go-to guy. Lane was also still affected by the mental aspect of his knee at times. He wasn't making the cuts he could make in high school. I think we see a big improvement in both of them this year. I'm just hoping we can hold on to the ball.

Yes, they were effective. But not game changers. HUGE difference between the two. We need a big time back. One who breaks tackles and scores touchdowns. Not one who virtually tackles themselves.
