Look at this through a potential hire's eyes. I read this point of view in some article last night.
You're asked to be the coach at Tennessee. You're gonna have to leave a less stressful situation. MNF, Louisville, Oklahoma St., or any other place that is not the SEC. If you do take the job you gotta take an underdog into Oregon next year. You play UF, GA, BAMA, USCe, every year. You rotate teams like LSU, TA&M, and some other talented West teams. You also risk your current easy chair job and in three years you could be like Dooley searching for some DII School to give you a job. Or get hired on as an assistant for someone else. Butch Jones never hesitated and accepted the offer pretty quickly it seems. Let's give the guy a dang chance. This guy knows what he's up against and he still took the job. Let's give him some credit for that.
Imagine when he was standing on the sideline last year when we played Cincy. He has to realize the potential this place has. He knows our history, our facilities, the money he'll have to recruit with. He wants this challenge when everyone wimped out. That's shows he has guts. Go Vols!
