Looking at the Butch Jones staff at Cincinnati, there was only one minority position coach on the staff. If he brings in the majority of his Cincinnati staff, there will be only 1 minority position coach UT's staff. Most SEC coaching staffs have at least 3 or 4 minority coaches on their staffs. How effective will the recruiting be with only 1 minority coach on staff?

Needs to add Tee Martin to this staff.

I do think he needs at least 2-3 maybe more it makes a difference in recruiting. One time fulmer only had 2.minority coaches and our rivals used that against him in recruiting.

How are we going to get Asian LBs like Dat Nguyen without some Asian flavor on the staff?? This is a travesty.

So, Jones should be sure to put a few more token minorities on his staff to improve recruiting, rather than hiring solely based on coaching acumen? OK.

CBJ need to bring in Tee Martin because he's a damn good coach, not because he is black.

What recruits want to do is WIN. You can have a staff full of minorities, but if you dont win, nobody will come here.

Most on this board will need to use the dictionary to discover the definition of "acumen".

Even more disturbing is that most on this board will not know what a 'dictionary' is...

Lets see, he won 4 championships in 6 years. Not too bad.

The man's staff isnt even put together yet and we are talking lack of minority coaches. Smh. One of the coaches we know will be on it for sure is a minority. Just be patient.

So, you think Derrick Ansley should be retained as the cornerbacks coach? Our defense was atrocious this year and the weakest part of that unit was the secondary. But let's keep that coach to maintain "status quo." If that is what you're worried about, please don't be. Tee Martin should make his way back to Knoxville. And Martinez is a last name you should be pleased with as well, OP.

Race's effect on recruiting is negligible. Nick Saban doesn't seem to have a hard time relating to young minority athletes.

Lets get some quadriplegics, cricket players, lesbians, a few blind folks, a kid, a leprechaun, Smaug the Dragon, and a christmas tree.. just to make sure we are as diverse as possible because we all know diversity is the key to success!!.....

Hopefully El Al Siddad will come over from from Iran U, and he counts as a minority. He would be in charge of trying to make our offense more explosive.

I know that's bad
