Butch Jones and minority coaches

Looking at the Butch Jones staff at Cincinnati, there was only one minority position coach on the staff. If he brings in the majority of his Cincinnati staff, there will be only 1 minority position coach UT's staff. Most SEC coaching staffs have at least 3 or 4 minority coaches on their staffs. How effective will the recruiting be with only 1 minority coach on staff?

Needs to add Tee Martin to this staff.

How about he hires the best coaches/recruiters he can find.. I don't give a rats a$$ what color the guy is, only whether he can he get the job done or not..

Can we not get over this stupid sh!t of requiring x.x% minorities on a staff and let the coaches do what they feel gives the team the BEST chance for success....

To act like diversity on a staff doesn't matter is to not deal with reality. With all the quality coaches out there, you shouldn't have to sacrifice quality just to have a diverse staff. The term "token" implies that there are not enough HQ coaches out there to put together a great staff that also is diverse.

I don't care if our coaching staff is black, white, red, blue, yellow or green as long as they can coach and knows how to win.

If we are looking for racial equality then better make sure we get at least 3-4 melungeons since they are such a large part of the population in appalachia. We are probably deficit in this category since the Chief left.

Sometimes when people act like race is nothing, they make it something. Yes, it's absolutely something that needs to happen. UT needs minorities on the staff. I'm not saying a white guy should get canned to make room for a black guy who is not as talented at the coaching spot. I'm just saying it would be smart to make an effort to look for minorities. You better freaking believe recruits care about this stuff. You've got kids going to school hundreds of miles from home and all of their authoritative figures are white. Do you think that is appealing to them? I don't think so. Now, I do believe Jones will make sure there are some black coaches on his staff and we already know of at least one.

The race of the staff should be a non issue. Watching football on the weekend is a time to put that ish aside. Of course some will make it more personal for their own agenda.

My wife says maybe CBJ should hire a woman staff member so we will have all the minorities covered. Lol

Unbelievable! I just can't even imagine sitting and thinking about this right now as you look at all of the other things going on with TN football. Besides, Jay stays, Thigpen coming in and if Tee comes home, how would this be an issue? SMDH.

Hopefully El Al Siddad will come over from from Iran U, and he counts as a minority. He would be in charge of trying to make our offense more explosive.

I know that's bad

I think promising recruits 72 virgins would count as an NCAA infraction.
