Butch Jones calls mandatory meeting at 7:30am

How is it possible that we have Bo Pelini, Hue Jackson, and Greg Roman all express interest in the job and we are going to hire Butch Jones? I mean is this really possible?!?

Dave Hart should be fired and sued for breach of contract if this is true.

Man, I'm done. It's a sad, sad day when UT has to reach down far enough in the bucket as to grab a FOOTBALL coach from the University of Cincinnati. Cheek/Hary should be run out on a rail.

No reason to freak out until something is official guys. This could be nothing. But if it does go official I will jump on the Hart-hating bandwagon.

UT needs a UT guy leading the AD. I always rejected this notion, but I'm convinced now. How do you even think about hiring one of the few coaches that Dooley rolled as his replacement?

Hmmm I wonder how well he will do recruiting in the south with all that Michigan experience ? Gawd i hope he doesn't have that Michigan accent. And yes i had to google him. WTF

1990–1991 Rutgers (GA)
1992–1994 Wilkes (OC)
1995–1997 Ferris State (OC)
1998 Central Michigan (TE)
1999–2001 Central Michigan (RB)
2002–2004 Central Michigan (OC)
2005–2006 West Virginia (WR)
2007–2009 Central Michigan
2010–present Cincinnati

I heard he made great inroads while working at Ferris State

Lets hope Butch Jones announces he is staying at Cincy and turning UT down like all the other coaches.

I was thinking Strong turning the job down was a blessing with Pelini, Jackson and Roman expressing interest in the job.

All three were upgrades imo. Jones is a step backwards. He for sure isn't a proven coach.

I would bet he has been contacted by either UT or Wisconsin. Something got him to pass on the Colorado job. He's been talking to someone.

I couldn't agree more. Or at least it should be amended that people with Alabama and Florida ties shouldn't be conducting our coaching searches.

This is devastating news if true.

I had hope that Hart would be a competent AD. 3 years from now, we'll likely be right back here looking for a new coach.

Fact: UT football is now no more relevant than Ole Miss or Vandy.
