Butch Jones has to man up

It's his 1st year for lord's sake... What did you guys expect? A 12-0 season?

I am with you, it's his first season. I expected a lot more from Dobbs than 53 yards passing, zero TDs and 2 ints against a depleted Vandy secondary. I expected Marlin Lane to get more than 9 carries, especially with a young QB. I expected a much better decision than faking a FG with a kicker. I expected the offense to at least play average at home. I also expected the offense to help the defense out.

I expected to beat Vandy. Especially how terrible they played.

How about trying to get your own thoughts instead of repeating Matt Millens.

The truth is we are slow with very little talent and depth.
So, weren't you the part of the same crowd telling people to STFU when they questioned Dooley's recruitment of 2-3* players? Yeah, that's right. You were. Go ahead, though. Be a hypocrite. When Dooley is the HC, "he knows more than you and knows how to evaluate talent better than you."

But now that he's no longer the HC, it's Open Season on both Dooley and his recruits. What jokers like you forget to mention is that most of the starters on the defense were 4* recruits. Same goes for the offense. There is FAR more talent on this roster than Vandy's.

We just got out-coached...once again. Simple as that. We had more talent, across the board than Mizzou. Only teams that out-recruited us over the past 4-5yrs was Bama, UGA, UF and perhaps Auburn...even though we outranked the last 3 a few times. We even out-recruited, overall...Oregon, if you observe the rankings of all 3 services the past 5yrs

He won't.. he's a car salesman.. that's it.

Excellent post as was the OP's....on a personal level I can understand how difficult it is to find fault and shortcomings with your personal performance but thats especially true of your belief systems....but as a leader, especially when what you do is so public and so scrutinized its critical that you find a way to do so and make it work for you....

My favorite coach of all time is coach Summitt and I think she had a problem with this as well....she would often 'throw people under the bus' and I disagreed with her doing so....unfortunately thats about the only thing Jones has in common with Summitt....

Why does everyone want to keep bringing up Dooley? Is it some kind of race to find out who can bail on a coach first and say I told you so?

Are you arguing "for" talent, so you think Dooley's 2-3* guys are legit and he recruited well? I'm not following your point exactly. You are arguing we have talent and speed and we are 4-7 because of coaching? What record does our talent warrant?

You can't just looking at recruiting classes over the past 4-5 years without looking at attrition and the fact many of our seniors had four coaches in four years. Stability helps and we've had none. We have a team of recruits recruited four different systems by three different coaches, four if you count the fifth year guys. And I disagree that Tennessee is more talented than Missouri, but granted, it's much closer than the score indicated. And Auburn easily has more talent than we do, many of which were recruited for Petrino's system.
