Agreed but to praise every little thing he does, like surpassing richt in twitter is ridiculous. I don't crap on everything, I point out legitimate things that I personally don't like. It's an opinion.

Such as? Butch saying he would assemble the best staff in America. Translation? Most of his cinci staff, two auburn assistants(since they were so successful this year) and the wr coach from Wisconsin. Sorry, but don't say things you can't possibly make happen at this point at Tennessee.

He surpasses richt in twitter. Excuse me if I don't find that exciting. Excuse me if I feel like the pro butch crowd is grasping for anything to throw at those of us who aren't butch fans but Tennessee fans. Just bc some of us dont jump up and down, clap, get excited, and get all kinds of giddy like some school girl bc he uses twitter and has surpassed richt in followers, doesn't mean we aren't Tennessee fans, it means we aren't exactly excited about butch bc he was a last ditch choice. He may do well, I don't know but most of us are just taking a wait and see approach while some of you are posting every thing butch does.

You've got the school girl drama thing down pat though. Kudos to you.

Johndoe, I am waiting but I have reservations. I'm sorry. The biggest being that he was the 5th choice. The second being that he shot his mouth about having the best staff in America at Tennessee. If it doesn't bother you, that he promised the best staff and then produced the cinci staff, two coaches from auburn, and a coach from Wisconsin, then ok.

Yeah, not so much of why you formed your opinion, but more so of how you judge others opinions. That's why you get the drama award. Congrats!

I see your point, but the only real judgement will come when we see the product on the field, until then, we could choose to be hopeful, or negative (or neutral), I prefer to be positive.:hi:

Perhaps I am wrong, only time will tell.

Sorry, when butch beats richt in angry birds, scrabble, or out "touts" richt, I will start a thread praising his every move.

If we like our new coach, we are going to talk up anything he does, if you are waiting for results, then you should write about it when the first results are in, easy enough?
You talking to me?

Definitely. And it shows that people are believing in him already. He's done more in three weeks than Dooley did in three years.

Except win any games, at all, which is all that matters. Which makes anyone an idiot for believing in anyone before they do anything. /rant.

whether you bluehairs like it or not, twitter is extremely popular today, especially in high school aged kids. Pretty much every recruit has a twitter and uses it. Jones knows this and is addressing it by embracing it. I think it's pretty cool that he is reaching out to fans in this way and has so many followers. I don't know what more a coach can do to get you on their side IN THE OFFSEASON (remember i said that), but dammit he is trying. Do we have to negate everything this guy does before he coaches a game? This isn't an accomplishment, you goobers, its just something to bring up when there's nothing going on. Sorry this isn't the parade-worthy news you were looking for, but it's something. Enjoy your miserable lives this offseason and just don't look at volnation if it bothers you so much.

While I personally couldn't care less about twitter I DO recognize how valuable it is in recruiting. You are right. The new generation follows it closely.

What would u have him say....I have the WORST STAFF INAMERICA but I'll do what I can!!!! It's called leading your organization from in front....the staff knows he's supporting them and I don't think anyone ACTUALLY thought he was declaring his staff undisputed world champs...JMHO

I was impressed when I saw this. However, it didn't have anything to do with Georgia or CBJ.

Considering how long we have been down; then here is our new coach gaining more support then a well established Georgia coach. That is impresive and shows how many hungry Tennessee fans there are.

I don't know what some of you want. I guess CBJ should say screw Twitter and start lobbying the BCS to replace Notre Dame in the NCG

It matters. Twitter is a big deal with the age group that college football teams recruit. Twitter is one of the greatest marketing tools there is. Selling a recruit on a program is basically marketing.

Twitter is not greater than fantastic facilities, UTs are some of the best. The truth is, kids want to win. Add winning to what we have, and you can recruit.

How is this "huge"????

Do we get an extra scholarship? 5 * commit?

What a foolish thread.

Social media is a great vehicle for promoting anything that needs promoting. IT makes perfect sense to use these new resources .

So Our Marketing Department is better then your marketing department

I say we leave it on the field

With that being said social media is the new way to approach all business
Social Media will help recruiting but I for one seriously doubt the coach is following the twitter feed unless someone in the marketing Department does a simple back search and it's a recruit then he may make the reply
