Butch just said Worley will start

Got news for you... if Worley isn't the right kind of QB then Jones' recruiting is really, really off target. Dormady is VERY similar in many ways to Worley.

I agree with you on this. I've been thinking here lately that CBJ is changing up his offensive scheme to the strengths of our players. Why make a drop back passer run often when you have multiple weapons at reciever and tight end? Not just first team either. I think we are sittin pretty nice as far as depth at receivers go. On top of that, I look forward to seeing Hurd bring a force to our running game. My second thought with this... Did anyone see the wide receiver U video that VFL films put out the other day? It was obviously a recruiting tool showing how great our receivers have always been great and how we are going to continue that TENNESSEE TRADITION. Butch always talks about tradition and what not. Maybe he is leaning towards a heavy air raid offense for the future recruiting guys like Dormandy. Just my thoughts though.

I'm glad Worley got it. I don't think anyone is surprised at this point. I really like Peterman. He's a good kid. It's a shame what happened in the Florida game. I think he'd have to come in on mop up duty and really prove himself to gain VN's trust back JMO. Or pull a Rick Clausen. Dobbs has more game experience than Peterman at this point so he's the default back up IMO.

He will probably make the least turnovers. He may not have the big play potential of the other two but makes the best decisions.

Alright i can see what you are saying but I feel its the right choice at this point given the team this year. Need somebody that dosent get rattled and can get the offense lined up and make the correct reads.

Butch has done a tremendous job purging the team of Dooley and Dooleyness.

I feel bad for the young men who had to play under his regime.

I get what you are saying, but Bray seemed to have no trouble with the old line. Wonder what Worley really meant by that? Does that mean they didn't listen to Jones either? Weird comment.

I took it to mean a senior laden, NFL bound squad who had never seen leadership and never been pulled into the team concept. Bray at KY, an OLine that, frankly, underperformed, Da'Rick with Bagget, etc all part of Dooley's lack of leadership and team focus.

The head coach was worried about his stool being the right height, shower discipline, bamboo farming, and being cute in his press conferences (he wasn't cute or clever). Same lack of focus on the team permeated the squad.

After seeing how Butch has turned our program so far, I trust his decision. He knows far more about who the starter should be than anyone else. If he thinks Justin's our guy, then I have no reason to criticize him for it. Go Vols!

The season is ruint already because Butch waited a week too long to announce this...too late to develop chemistry :cray:...soooo?....when does basketball start?

Now that sounds like the tune that Tony Basilio and Reed Carringer are crying the past few days.

Not sure CBJ runs a read option and Worley is a drop back passer...??

Jones doesn't run a read option O. His O is a hybrid spread O with west coast elements to it. It is probably more similar to Dave Clawsen's ideal than Urban Meyer's. He has frequently said he wants his QB to pull it a couple of times per game just to keep the D honest but he does NOT need a running QB. He wants playmakers and a QB that gets them the ball.

A QB with mobility is often a good thing... if they can learn that they are not the first or second option.

He has said... ad nauseum that he first and foremost wants someone who manages the offense. I can't really blame you for missing or ignoring it though... a large contingent of UT fans who post here keep acting as they're oblivious to his statements though we've pointed them out many times.
