Butch- talented enough teams to make playoffs in 2015 and 2016. Dobbs leaves and Butch is exposed. Failed to develop QB behind Dobbs. Decided to die on the sword for JG. Best wins- UGAx2, UF

Pruitt- had a lot of talent, just couldn’t develop it and wasn’t a good HC. Was in over his head the minute he took the job. But still decent recruiter. Best wins, Auburn.

Heupel- started Milton over Hooker, and if not for the injury to Milton, Hooker don’t play when he did. Hooker plays for 2 years and Heupel looks like a great coach but misses the playoffs last year, even though had enough talent to make it. Hooker gone and Heupel starting to look like suspect.

Heupel is willing to die on the sword for Milton like Butch and Pruitt did for JG, even when it is clear Milton is not the answer. We do not know what we have in Nico till he gets meaningful time. But what I am certain of is that we can win the same amount of games with Nico at QB as Milton. When will Heupel give Nico a chance, or will he suffer the same fate as Pruitt and Butch?

Are you saying Heupel didn’t exceed your expectations last year?

You do know that Heupel easily could’ve put Milton back in over Hooker once Milton was healthy right?

Well said. It’s all very true. I think I bought is a much more intelligent coach than either of the others and he is a scheme coach, which is really important. But it is so freaking puzzling that he seems unable to recognize that Milton doesn’t have it.

Milton game awareness is non existent. Having to use 2 timeouts on the 1st series out of Halftime was shocking. We are running the ball down by 16 with 4 minutes left on 3Rd and long. If the coaches trusted Milton to throw the ball deep we wouldn’t be wasting time with 4 minutes left down 16. The play calling is limited with Milton at QB.

It’s the truth. I haven’t given up on Heupel yet, but this is head 3 with a 25 year old QB and look like ****.
and he turned a VT reject with a reputation for folding under pressure into an nfl QB.
Your Hooker was great from the minute he took the field is inaccurate at best. He hasn’t been able to coach up Milton beyond inconsistent play. Some players aren’t fixable. Nico is next and it appears he’s learning at a fast pace. Will Nico be the next QB to miraculously save Hypel’s rear? We will all find out soon enough.

Tell me the difference then?
1. Seriously, Nico ain't ready for an SEC season. Kid needs to put on weight, and this O-line right now could get him hurt.
2. Joe doesn't play O-line or DB. He's no Dobbs/Hooker, but he sure as hell isn't JG, either.
3. Game 3, year 3, I agree there's major problems evident, but comparing Heuple/Milton to Butch-Pruitt/JG is a bridge too far.

You mean learning the pace like Milton and having to take 2 timeouts on the 1st possession out of half time? Or the time we took our final timeout because we couldn’t like up for 2 point conversion after a 5 minute commercial break?

I’m not sure if Nico is gonna be great or not. But I do know he deserves a chance this week with the play we have seen from Milton last couple weeks. We actually looked better when we slowed it down and ran the ball more the 2nd half. So pace of play might not be a bad thing to slow down this year if it means we run more than 13 plays in the entire 1st half.

Hold on now. You were bragging about no interceptions from Milton recently.

With o line issues, we probably shouldn’t risk our $8M QB, but against UTSA may be a good time to see how he plays with the 1s. Looks like some NIL should go to recruiting an o line.

You know for sure we can win the same amount with Nico? Lol. No you don’t. Stop acting like you know how to coach football at the D1 level. You don’t. You even mentioning Heupels name
With Butch and Pruitt shows how dumb you are.

1- Milton is in his 3rd year at UT and still is lost when it comes to game awareness. Nico 1st possession against Virginia he drove the team down the field for a TD. And how do you know JG isn’t ready if not given a chance? Hooker only got his chance because Milton got hurt. Milton started over Hooker, so let that sink in.

2- Joe does get in the play and due to time issues we took 2 timeouts coming out of halftime on 1st series. Took our 3rd timeout on a 2pt conversion after a 5 minute commercial break to prevent a delay of game. No QB is as bad as JG.

3. It’s one thing to have issues against an SEC team on the road, but we seen some of these issues at home last week against AP. Heupel is better coach than Pruitt and Butch, but the loyalty to a fault with the QB is spot on. Milton is Heupel guy. If Heupel brought in Hooker, and Pruitt brought in Milton, do you think Milton would have played over him? We know what we have with Milton. But we do not know what we have with Nico in game situations with starters.

I’m not a coahc by far, but I know what my eyes tell me. I don’t see them in practice everyday like Heupel does. But I do know that Nico can call 2 timeouts coming out of half time on 1st series. Also Nico can call a timeout on a 2pt conversion coming out of a commercial break. Also nico can throw it up in the air for an INT with no UT player with in 20 yards.

Remember, Heupel really thought Milton was better than Hooker when he started him over Hooker. We all seen Hooker was by far one of the best QB I’m the country when he got his chance.

Yes
Milton has played well at times and was an absolute disaster tonight.
Some get coached up and some can’t

OMG stop.

I know tonight sucks. But we're inevitability gonna lose some games. At least see how the year goes before we start comparing a coach who had us ranked #1 and beat UF and Bama in the same year to the worst head coaches Tennessee has ever seen.
we should not lose to a less talented team with less seniors and juniors.
UF 2 deep- 95% sophomore and freshman
UT 2 Deep 95% junior and seniors
