Well, it depends. I don't want to get into semantics about whether a person actually attended the university or not.

So, if we open the door to all fans, in the most top level definition there is, I would call a VFL any person who has and always will represent the University of Tennessee proudly and always strive to reflect positively on the university in everything they do. Whatever it is in life that they do, they are always attached to the university, love the university, and showcase their pride of the university to the public, through good times and bad.

the issue comes when you try to apply VFL to fans when it has nothing to do with them

Vol for Life is dumb. It's like saying, "human for life". It's dumb. Of course we are Vols for life. The fact that it has been coined is telling on the state of the University.

I mean, WHAT THE HELL ELSE ARE YOU?

Lmao, you are more of a VFL then the pro bowl starting RB for a NFL franchise, that attended UT and was the starting RB for UT.

You do realize that AF couldn't care less about UT, right? He may say otherwise (I doubt it), but he's proven with his "this'll probably get UT in trouble" comment before he dropped an NCAA violation on the media. How can you call someone who doesn't care about UT a VFL?

He's good at football (away from UT). Good for him.

Just saw the rerun of last nights PTI this morning and even they had a chuckle about it! I dunno about maybe some other NFL Players but I wouldn't put 50 cents on Foster!

Invest in a pro athlete in a sport where almost 75% go broke after leaving the league? I'll take that South Dakota beachfront property instead.
