I definitely KNEW he was talented. This is elite speed for his size. Would anyone say he had the productivity of a Derrick Barnett? Nope. You make it easy to make it personal when you come and piss negativity on a postive statement based post.
Plenty of folks saw how good BY was on the field. Only those driven to constantly criticize missed his talent and skill every game.
I’d say definite 1st. He posted in the top 3 or 5 in several categories. His 40 is top 5 in the last 20 years at his position group. Vertical leap, split. He is the ideal size for a 3-5 OLB in the NFL. I suspect he’ll kill it on bench press as well.Dude has a great story. Kept his nose clean at UT and balled out.
One of 32 fanbases is gonna fall in love with the kid.
Kinda sad? Geez man! The guy played his heart out every game. Never complained and played in the bowl game when lots of players didn't. I for one will remember this guy as a beast with huge upside of potential. If he stays healthy, he will be a great NFL player. Also, did you read what he said about his time at UT and Rodney Gardner? He is a great ambassador for UT football and his coaches. I hope he makes a boat load of money, and I will remember him as great VFL. Congrats to Mr. Young and GO VOLS!Kind of sad, as we certainly didn’t see this on the field.
I have to ask this question....you have defended your statement vehemently, why? Beyond a feel good story overall his performance on the field was high level. He led the team in sacks, and even when he didn't get the sack he had QBs running for their lives. He was top 5 in tackles for loss. He had 37 tackles overall in a position that is highly rotated. What about those results make you sad?Kind of sad, as we certainly didn’t see this on the field.
There’s nothing personal about calling someone out for saying really stupid sh*t.I definitely KNEW he was talented. This is elite speed for his size. Would anyone say he had the productivity of a Derrick Barnett? Nope.
If you take it personal and attack me, that’s on you.
John Madden always preferred seeing the 40 times of players in full pads, which makes sense to me as well. That's what they'll be wearing when chasing someone down or outrunning an opponent.Straightline speed doesn't always translate on the field. It's a good measurement to get a feeler but I wouldn't put my hopes in dreams with a 40 time. Or you'll end up like Al Davis in the speed era...speeding to disaster more than likely.

Huh, that’s his had NOTHING to do with disrespecting him. He put up incredible numbers. Did our staff get those results out of him? It’s a fair question. There’s nothing personal about calling someone out for saying really stupid sh*t.
He was the best DL on the best UT team in 2 decades. Maybe you should learn to show respect to a dude who earned it on the field while you were typing out BS on a cell phone.
He’s a great kid and great story. Maybe I was a little too harsh. My point is that I would expect D Barnett numbers with his talent.Kinda sad? Geez man! The guy played his heart out every game.
