C-USA Champ. #24 Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles at #7 Houston Cougars

No cusa team is goin to liberty bowl what i read in paper down here. Not enough sec tie ins. If ut woulda won it possibly would have been usm vs ut

....then the CUSA tie in would still stand, not having enough of 1 conference doesn't cancel the bowl or effect the other team or anything like that

plus liberty has the pick before birmingham. the latter's liking the one looking at another conference this year

I'm just messing with you TOP. I like Boise State, but definitely not enough to be a fan. I was pretty pissed when they lost that game though, I'm just tired of seeing them get the shaft from an unfair system.

Gotchya. I just knew you weren't happy about it but then again, I was pretty pissed off when Arkansas lost to LSU. That doesn't make me a fan so I shouldn't assume you are. You just kind of gave off a vibe like you were kind of a fan

Your new avatar is hilarious

Oh ok. Thats just what i read

BREAKING: C-USA executives evict USM from the conference due to $17M loss

Probably lose money regardless. We already know Sumlin can get out for a better job. Maybe USM's coach can too. Losing both coaches could cost them money as well

@smartfootball Whether you’re spread, I form, flexbone, whatever: it’s all about the lines. Today, So Miss whooped Hou OLine and DLine, and that’s the game

That's the game in a nutshell

The highest-ranked champion of a non-BCS conference will receive an automatic berth if:

* It is ranked in the top 12, or
* Ranked in the top 16 and higher than at least one BCS conference champion.

Gary Patterson: looking at a BCS bowl for the third straight year. Might need a Baylor loss for extra help in getting to 16th though

Pretty much the definite nail in coffin.

Houston, enjoy the Liberty Bowl...or possibly Hawai'i bowl

Who is the lady in the crowd in the black shirt that they keep showing? Brown hair; has on sun glasses. She was just putting on lip gloss.

Fedora wont leave, his son is on the team haha

I don't have a son so I guess I can't say. If I had a bigger opportunity right in front of me and I felt I might not get that opportunity again, I might leave even with my son there. He'll still get a degree and be on the team. But the chance to make more money and coach at a bigger school might not be there. 11-2 is a really good season. You might think you can replicate it but it's easier said than done. Would just be hard for me to pass on big opportunity if it was offered. You should always believe in yourself but you're facing coaches who want to win as much as you. Sometimes you've gotta take the opportunity when it's offered.

You're probably right though. Doubt he leaves son.

I don't want to say this game "exposed" anyone, but this didn't look good today.

In a way it did. Best defense Houston has played all season, best team Houston has played, etc. Most likely would've gotten ugly had they played in a BCS bowl.

Theyve won it 4 or 5 times since joining in like 98

I meant in the 12-team championship game. Found it:

Dec. 4, 2010 UCF 17 - SMU 7
Dec. 5, 2009 East Carolina 38 - Houston 32
Dec. 6, 2008 East Carolina 27 - Tulsa 24
Dec. 1, 2007 UCF 44 - Tulsa 25
Dec. 2, 2006 Houston 34 - Southern Miss 20
Dec. 3, 2005 Tulsa 44 - UCF 27

So this would be the first time they've won the championship game.
