'19 CA ATH/WR Horace "Bru" McCoy (Tennessee commit)

Okay, I feel like I need to clarify my statement. I didn't disagree we have the right guy running the ship in DW. I'm just saying I don't feel like we have any better of a chance of clearing up the Bru situation because of the investigation/subsequent non-punishment.

I suppose we have a better chance than if we didn't cooperate so well. But that's a given. I just don't think it plays significant enough of a factor to move the needle when compared to an imaginary situation in which we never got in trouble to start with.

I think it's enough alone to say that DW will take care of this.

You can have your opinion all you want, that you don’t “think” that it plays a significant factor in moving the needle. What I am saying is, according to my person (and honestly hearing from several other 3rd hand sources) that the relationships the DW has forged in dealing with the violations, is going to help us with Bru. This isn’t a random guessing opinion that you or I can come up with. This is the first hand opinion of someone who would have knowledge.

Either way, I think (my opinion) Bru gets qualified for the Pitt game.

If I take this any further, we'll be quabbling over semantics. I agree with your statement. Ultimately, DW and the AD's fantastic job handling the mess Pruitt left us will do well for us. DW's relationship forming will likely end up paying dividends for both situations (the Pruitt mess and Bru).

We got in trouble to start with. That's the problem. Just because we did a good job rectifying the problem doesn't mean that we aren't on notice in general or that we'll get any special treatment after.
WE didn't get in trouble. Jeremy Pruitt, his staff, and Phillip Fulmer got us in trouble. None of those people are here, anymore, and Danny White and Donde Plowman were entirely complicit with the NCAA and their investigation.

You already acknowledged another poster's comment pointing that out. You already acknowledged Danny White has good relationships with Emmert and the NCAA, and that it makes a difference. How do you acknowledge those things in agreement, and then question our standing with the NCAA?

Zero argument that we got in trouble, but our cooperation, the absence of any guilty parties, and our current administration's good standing relationship certainly isn't going to hurt our efforts.

There are 3 entities involved in this but only two can lose in the PR department. We will use this against USC on any recruit we are going against them for now , and the NCAA can’t afford any smoke from a big SEC school running up and down their cage yelling ATTICA !

a) we're not going to be going head to head w/USCw for a ton of primary targets, so whatever. b) the NCAA is completely tone deaf, always has been, always will be, so i don't think it matters one bit how much smoke is made. imo, the NCAA has basically 1 major priority, and as long as whatever decision they're looking to make about a particular program doesn't affect that #1 priority, then they'll act. and that is: does this program affect our bottom line as an organization? if yes, "you know what to do/not do". if no, "eff 'm". particularly in basketball since the 'AA tournament is such a cash cow for them.

that said, i do think the relationships DP and DW have with people at the 'AA can help us here...doesn't mean they will though eihter. or USCw can just sign the paper. either way, pond or pool.

So not the first game?

Why should it matter whether we're going head to head with USCw for the recruit? Why not inform every recuit they offer what a mistake it would be for them (and their parents) to get involved with Riley and those haters and backstabbers? It would be an act of humanity 😂 #FreeBruMcCoy #USCbackstabsRecruits
