They could literally start NCAA 2.0 (same as the old) as soon as enough sign up. The universities ARE the NCAA.

Imo it will only be geared towards:

1) The bigger schools

2) Attempting to organize so they can retake power frm the student-athletes/avoid having to employ them

With fewer schools in charge, a larger portion of the powers will also be your rivals. Good to get punishment out of the way now before 1/3 if the committee is Bama, UGA, and Sankey.

As much as I want to believe the 2nd part of your statement, I doubt NCAA is going to treat us specially because we did well while we were getting in trouble. Seems like not breaking the rules in the first place would give us the best chance of success pushing something like this through.

I disagree - we've seen plenty of inconsistencies in how NCAA has treated various schools. We now have - maybe the perfect A.D. for these times (vs say, Dickey back in the day when things were different with NCAA). I can't overstate how much better I feel with who is running things within UTAD..., & admin too for that matter.

We did well AFTER we got in trouble, not while we were getting in trouble. Enormous distinction.

Also seems like not hiring Pruitt would have been nice. Or Butch. Or Dooley. Or hiring Cut instead. Or just keeping Kippy as interim. Or not giving Lane a dumb contract. Or not hiring him in the first place. Or even not firing Fulmer. But since we don’t have a time machine, I’ll stick with doing the right thing during the investigation was the best option for the future. But I don’t have a crystal ball either.

Okay, I feel like I need to clarify my statement. I didn't disagree we have the right guy running the ship in DW. I'm just saying I don't feel like we have any better of a chance of clearing up the Bru situation because of the investigation/subsequent non-punishment.

I suppose we have a better chance than if we didn't cooperate so well. But that's a given. I just don't think it plays significant enough of a factor to move the needle when compared to an imaginary situation in which we never got in trouble to start with.

I think it's enough alone to say that DW will take care of this.

Also, we were in trouble until they decided not to punish us. You don't get out of trouble just because you try to make it right. You get in trouble after your parent (or governing authority/whatever) accepts that.

You have to remember, this is a new AD and new coaching staff and new administration. This is what I’ve been told so take it for what’s it’s worth. DW is all over this and working hard. Plus, DW has forged some good relationships and also good will with the NCAA that, in the opinion of my source, is and will help us in this case.
