'19 CA ATH/WR Horace "Bru" McCoy (Tennessee commit)

i listened to that and i'm honestly not sure he was doing anything but trying to down play an incoming announcement so bru can have somewhat of a day. i think it's all but public knowledge that he's coming here.
Yeah man I hope so. He did say Tennessee is the leader but this is the first I’ve heard of anyone pursuing him outside of Oregon.

it's swain's last show, and AP has been on every day teasing....yesterday they were asking him if he left the state of TN....asked him if he's filmed any vidoes and he quipped "maybe 2"...

while i wouldn't put it above AP to troll, i'm betting something happens tomorrow. my guesses are bru and slaughter...maybe stozier or meyers? feels like those are the 3 that could come off the board sooner than later.

ben and AP have both hinted that April is going to be a big month. it's the new May.

CRT? Maybe basic math should be the focus in schools. 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 3?

Just had to use my shovel this morning, Jake. 💩💩💩 😜

Like your thinking. Not sure how I feel about April Fool’s Day commits though. 🤔🤔🤔

i think his off field issues gave a lot of programs concern. from what AP has said, all the homework has been done, and ap said today that after spending time with him y yesterday he came away very impressed with the kid, and went on to say that should he come here 'TN would be getting another quality young man'...i think TN has definitely invested the most in this kid, and i just don't see how he's not here this summer.

he's a transfer. nothing to sign. will just show up after he's done at USCw.
I'm not close to this process but I would assume both parties would have to sign some sort of commitment before they handed over a 50k scholarship package. But maybe not.

he's a transfer. there's no commitment or NLI involved. he just shows up, and is awarded a scholarship if there's one available. in his case, there will be. but you can assume whatever you want i guess. lol.

Why do you think most of these guys are transferring? To get an NIL deal. Believe me they are involved.

i'm sure it's a factor. but i think for transfers, what affects their decision is the same things that have always affected their decision...be it playing time, needing a fresh start, coaching change, personnel, system....but first and foremost, it starts with first determining whether or not you need to leave your current situation, and if doing so will improve it. since last summer, over 2000 kids have entered the portal. not enough homes for all of them, so while NIL will factor for the cream of the crop, i would venture to say it matters very little to the majority.

Yes those things as well but you tell me. You’re one of the best players in the country and your school doesn’t have a good NIL. You didn’t get the opportunity coming out of high school. You might make a million dollars at another school.
In a game where every play can be your last you’re going to go get the money.

like i said, for the cream of the crop, it probalby does. but there's 2000 kids in the portal. is that THE reason? probably not.

Seriously, do I understand you to say that there is not a signed agreement for giving or receiving a scholarship if a player is a transfer? I understand NLI isn't needed but at what point does the player acknowledge that he plays for the University of Tennessee and agrees to forego scholarships to other schools for the next season? There is no contract between the player and the University?

he'll be a scholarship athlete and i'm sure there's paperwork or something to deal with?

not sure what you're really going after here.

he's a transfer, not a prospect. there's no signing day or anything. no NLI, so your statement about "signs the papers" doesn't mean the same thing it usually does, which is all i'm getting at.

I understand that. But at some point the agreement is confirmed under some sort of signed agreement I am sure. That was my only point... the poster I was responding to asked for finality without wanting to be bothered to read back. My point was simply it isn't final until it is final. I didn't intend to quibble about mechanics. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I should have just said he should buy a program at the season opener and see who is in it lol.

AP on Swain this morning said his best guess is that Bru commits somewhere at the end of USC’s semester so around the beginning of May. Also said Oregon, Bama, and Ole Miss are still pursuing.

RC said the same last night in the 247 Recruiting Chat - that it would probably be a few weeks, but he did say TN is in great shape with Bru.
