'19 CA ATH/WR Horace "Bru" McCoy (Tennessee commit)

Per Ryan Calahan Southern Cal has had no objection to Bru playing at Tennessee it's the NCAA dragging it out. SC told the NCAA this in January. TOTAL BS
This is total clown nonsense if Callahan said this. I’d guess Callahan is being fed garbage by USC’s 247 people or just echoing what usc said. They 1. Haven’t sent the npo despite indicating they would 2. Only committed to giving flaccid templated “support” to the ncaa today because of twitter pressure. 3. Issued the press release today before they responded to anything from Tennessee or the NCAA

Clown effort from Callahan and USC
Callahan’s article just quotes the USC press release + Trey Wallace’s article. Has no opinion in it whatsoever

If that is true, all USC had to do was sign the NPO as evidence that they did not object and we would have been well past this by now. Eff them and eff the NCAA.

In the era of the transfer portal, it just seems comically dumb to be a roadblock for a student trying to get cleared at another university. If you’re taking transfers, you shouldn’t try and block your transfers from leaving. Kids are moving from school to school like crazy. I just don’t see what any school could possibly gain by blocking a kid from playing other than bad PR.

You almost have to think there's some kind of legal issues we're just not aware of.I mean otherwise it's pointless to drag this out but either way its a bad look on Usc.Whats baffling is were months in on this process even if it's legal and still at square 1.I'm pretty sure they have those Johnny Cochran lawyers that could easily have handled this already..

Ive tried to distance myself from this story, partly because we will never know the real truth other than morans peddling ine sided projections.

But, as per usual. IF the NCAA is for the players (a position they have taken), then, it is unequivocally, undoubtedly, inexcuseable to allow myriad exemptions - and to place one player on backburner.

They've done it for decades. Futher it shows me complete and total ineptitude. If an employee performed that poorly that would be replaced, asap.

The sooner CFB can get away from an antiquated governing body, and elect an impartial leader, the better.

I thought the same people ran both.
While there is the occasional "independent" member that comes from the public space, some ex-government regulator or other, for instance, Nadja West (independent member) is a "retired United States Army lieutenant general and the 44th Surgeon General of the United States Army and former Commanding General of the United States Army Medical Command," the vast majority are nothing more than university employeees.

Which is why I find the notion of "universities leaving the NCAA to create their own regulatory structure" absolutely hilarious. LWSVOL is very knowledgable on the NCAA and points this out all the time.

Here is the current NCAA Board:

tennessee has taken a transfers and recruiting staff from USC... Hurt feelings and probably a bit of belief that tampering was going on (everybody does it) just being a pain in the ass that won't get exposed
The Fing irony. Tampering? F them. One of the dirtiest crap bags of a program in the country when it comes to inducement of other program’s players.

Oh, a system not ran BY the universities themselves would be fantastic.

Which is why it'll never happen. Unless the programs can be purchased by a private entity...there is zero chance they are just going to willingly let a private governing body rule them for no reason. There's no incentive from their perspective. Of course, as fans, we'd love impartiality, but I don't imagine the universities care or believe that is a real threat to their system. The universities have total control and have from the inception. The ONLY thing that has gotten in their way so far is that dang SCOTUS and their silly laws 🤭

wait for Washington to step in, that'll help.

My least favorite thing is hearing the other team's fight song or hearing their fans cheer or just be happy in general
My least favorite thing is officials showing a clear bias toward a given team or player, ie last year’s Ole Miss game or this year’s NBA Finals.

My second least favorite is Georgia students in those ridiculous spiked shoulder pad things.
