Whose class blows you away? Is there a team that has 2 straight losing records that does that for you? Love to know
Like I said, I don’t think you apply a handicap to a class following a season where a coach led his team to a losing season.

I never said it was bad. But it’s not enough, and it needs to be better next year.
I think that's just something that is better left unsaid.

I mean it's not an overly insightful position given our record the last two years.

Isn't it assumed that a program that wins 9 games in two years needs to recruit better players year over year?

It is enough. Enough to build on. If our coaches are as good at coaching as we think, they will be able to get this team ready to win 7 and a bowl game which will get an even better class the next 2 years. Clemson has proven you don't have to have AL classes. Of course we want as many of the best as we can get though.
I have no problem if you have that opinion, I just don’t share it.

Careful there. Borderline too much logic for one post!

Top 15 classes are a must. Clemson proves coaching can cover the rest as long as you find some studs at key positions. But hell, Petrino had Arkansas a top 5 team and idk if he ever pulled anything better than a top 30 class. Lots of talented kids out there, but you gotta coach em up.

It’s not a groundbreaking position, but it wasn’t a groundbreaking question.

Winning will cure a lot of it. Something we also haven't done much of lately.

Next year will be telling on the direction we're headed. We have a great chance at a top 5 class if we can just show a little progress on the field.
I agree...I dont care of the chicken or the egg comes first, but it has to start somewhere.

I think it's the timeline. You can win with classes like that with the coaching you're taking about.

It just takes longer to get there vs signing a couple/three top 10 or top 5 classes in a row.

It's been over a decade. Classes like this are good. But they likely mean another 2-3 years of patience while we continue to recruit and develop

Recruits do.
I think your point is too general to be persuasive. Some recruits you hear that “we have to show it on the field.” Some recruits want to be part of a resurgence. I don’t think there is a consistent level of talent to which either characteristic applies.

I hate everything..🤬 This turn of events is demoralizing. Are we really not even going to visit now? I think this was lost back in the summer when Saban sent Taulia here to bird dog HT all weekend.

from what I’ve read we will get the last in house visit. That went a long way with crouch. This class is pretty sporty, our average recruit ranking is up there with elite programs right now. Of course winning like we all hear about will take care of itself for future classes

In the case of the particular recruit being discussed, as to whether or not getting his signature sways opinions of this class and how we finish, it does; given the reasons given as to why he is apparently going to choose bama over us.

So...
What you're saying is....
Different recruits are different?

Just want to get this right

I know, but...dang we needed this kid. Just feels like another nut punch..Pruitt has got to find some better way of finishing on these kind of guys for us to get over the hump. And don't start on me..I am a big Pruitt supporter...

This just sucks..

I have no problem if you have that opinion, I just don’t (not sure why my post did this inside that one, but.......You can always write a letter to the president of the university and tell him we need more pixie dust on our magic wand because you are not satisfied with the class we have coming in. Or you can get over your expectations and enjoy this incredible group of men that have chosen to wear orange and white. Or you could choose a team that has a class you like better. Or you can be miserable because you didn't get who you wanted when you wanted it.

That's what I am excited about. Can't wait to see what they will do with these players.

It’s not over yet. Everyone thought crouch was headed to Clemson. Pruitt and Fulmer are very good motivators

If we actually get the last in home visit, there is still a chance. But it seems like thats not going to happen. We may get shocked here, but more than likely its over. Also, Crouch is a very different situation. Crouch visited us 6 times. Henry T only twice.
