I agree to an extent. Oklahoma wouldn't win 4 sec championship in a row like they just did there. They can't get past the sec winners as it is in the quarterfinals with 2 Heismans. Clemson is very very good. I'm just not sold on them yet. They've gotten to pretty much cruise to the playoffs with the ACC sucking so bad. They haven't beat Bama without an elite QB and they should have lost the first championship with Watson since that technically was a pick play. They blew em out this year, in 1 game, but that just came out of left field. Literally nobody seen that coming and doubt they could do it twice. Auburn murdered Georgia year before last then got stomped just a few weeks later. I don't look at 1 game being the end all

Plus as a fan you have to set your mind on what goals are you good with. Sec East champions? Sec champions? Playoffs? I don't think national championships cause winning 1 in 50 years or since segregation shows that, as a university, Tenn is not championship caliber or even in the conversation consistently. With that said, I think of the big stage lol. But just to make the playoffs you almost have to win the sec. We have to go thru Bama, Georgia and Florida to do that which is a hell of a mtn to climb without the athletes and depth

Hard to tell with this staff. It's been known to leak fals info to make people think we either aren't serious contenders or stopped recruiting. We didn't know we were close to flipping egiobe. We thought we gave up on Crouch and in a week it changed. Everyone said Michigan for bailey. Georgia for Solomon . And acted like gibbs wasn't an option. Honestly if the guys don't have a real in with a family member or HS coach like Seals/Wright they don't know outside of what staff is wanting them to know

This is a great point, NV. Hadn’t actually thought about that. Crouch is the big recruitment that really proves this. We were lucky enough to have someone on here connected...griddie. He stayed firm that we were in that recruitment no matter what the recruiting sites were reporting.

I know as Austin posted earlier there's been some talk about Tennessee not making an in home with Henry T. this week, but in talking with some west coast people it sounds like Pruitt and the staff are pushing to try and make the visit happen. We will see later this week exactly what happens with the visit.

Tennessee is obviously going in home with Chris Russell this week and have him on campus this week. He's a big priority for this class regardless of Henry T. Tennessee has made him a real priority since back in November.”

The VQ guys have been critical of the staff and some of the ways they've handled certain recruitments and perhaps misreading where they were with the prospect.

I’m usually on board with the VQ gang’s opinions, but I’ve found their criticism of the staff’s recruiting this year to be unwarranted, at best. Of all people, the VQ staff should know how unpredictable recruiting can be.

maybe they're being critical on .25. But, i've not heard any criticism on either Brent or VQ poscast. Maybe some self promoting, but, my experience has been Hubbs knows where he gets paid. He's smart.

Maybe they did that here and thought that by having the last in home visit they could overcome the Alabama visit?

@Atlanta VOL warned us earlier in the week.

Seems to be a fair assessment. Let's hope they can learn from their mistakes.

I think the biggest miss was not realizing potential pull The tag family would have here. Staff may have known this but I think fan bases and media didn't think about it. If Henry T family is moving with him then that personal connection of knowing you won't be on your own is huge. I didn't know they were considering moving before. Tag family would be there all 4 yrs they would there as son would be in same class.

I think it's the timeline. You can win with classes like that with the coaching you're taking about.

It just takes longer to get there vs signing a couple/three top 10 or top 5 classes in a row.

It's been over a decade. Classes like this are good. But they likely mean another 2-3 years of patience while we continue to recruit and develop

Man how I wish Pruitt could pull in a 30+ class like Butch and flip this roster.
