'19 CA LB Henry To'oto'o (Tennessee Signee)

I say Pruitt needs to use our past against Saban during this visit. “Henry, why would you want to go play on a defense ran by Sal Sunseri after the job he did at UT?”

“Better yet, even play at a school that would hire Lyle Jones after the job he did at UT”

Worth a shot?

? Warrior is Dale Carter’s son and Khalil was the top ranked player and main recruit recruiter of our 2015 class
Didn’t say anything contrary to either of those. Khalil wasn’t the “crown jewel”. He had sat out a year and got injured doing so. More was expected of Kyle Phillips.

Oh gotcha. I think previous poster meant initially Kmac was the crowne jewel. When he got on campus at 350lbs+ it became obvious he needed some time

Agree, and I do see where you are coming from. I think a lot of it is what Tide Warrior said about going head-to-head for recruits with committable offers to the current top teams, along with a lot of other factors. None of which is bigger than the fact this staff still has only had since last December to even have a chance to talk to these recruits on behalf of Tennessee. Sure Pruitt recruited a lot of the same players at Bama and Georgia that he is now but its going to take more results on the field and in the NFL Draft to show those same high-profile recruits that Pruitt and staff were the reason for their success and not the program that they coached for.
Agree.

Really? You’re obviously just trying to instigate by saying something like “we didn’t get Wright” when it’s literally one week away from being done, and has looked that way for half a year. Don’t act like you didn’t know what you were doing

I’m not under the impression we will sign him. If that’s instigating then you might need a new hobby.

Yep, fine line.
Of course when you're at Bama, you sell the program as part of your pitch. Now, you have to sell them on picking another program without seeming disingenuous in any way. (Fine line)
The previous relationships help in one way but can be an obstacle if not handled perfectly. Assuming Pruitt still bestows praise for Bama but shows why players were at their best with him over defense.

Bama and WVU hanging around. I think he would have signed in the early period if he knew he was coming here.

If this in regards to Wright there has been no mention by any site, any insider, or projected final mock class that includes Wright to UA. He would be a definitie take but seems to have no interest in UA.

Then what are we doing here?
Passing time until next Wednesday. What are people going to do with their time until Spring practice starts? I guess there may be information on S&C progress. Basketball will get a lot of play, softball, and Track and Field, and baseball may be interesting.

Lots of discussion about where things stand with Henry To'oto'o and Chris Russell. Here's the latest from the VQ staff.

As @Lupovol noted in a thread earlier, Texas A&M has the momentum for Russell right now following Jimbo Fisher's in-home visit. There's a chance the 3-star linebacker could even visit College Station again unofficially this weekend. Tennessee is still working to get Russell and his family on campus this weekend, though. Things are very fluid there. Nothing is final as of Thursday morning. There are a lot of Volunteer folks in Dyersburg. Right now, the official visit is on pause. Tennessee is working to make sure it's not outright canceled. The Vols were right that A&M was their biggest challenger for Russell, but they underestimated the in-state linebacker's overall interest.

As for To'oto'o, the Vols are still scheduled to see the De La Salle linebacker today. Can they flip the momentum away from Washington and Alabama? That's going to be tough, as Nick Saban is also slated to go in-home with the 4-star California native.

I know this isn't the news y'all wanted to hear. But the that's the latest as of this morning.

this recruitment is so crazy... everything was Vols and now after visiting AL, now all of a sudden they and Wash have the upper hand? Tosh is gone and I thought I read he didn't even tell HT, that he read about it... If we indeed do an in home, I think we have a slight lead. I don't get the fact that it is touch and go on a Pruitt in home, but it is a given and not debated that Saban gets his in home...
