Oh gotcha. I think previous poster meant initially Kmac was the crowne jewel. When he got on campus at 350lbs+ it became obvious he needed some timeDidn’t say anything contrary to either of those. Khalil wasn’t the “crown jewel”. He had sat out a year and got injured doing so. More was expected of Kyle Phillips.
Agree.Agree, and I do see where you are coming from. I think a lot of it is what Tide Warrior said about going head-to-head for recruits with committable offers to the current top teams, along with a lot of other factors. None of which is bigger than the fact this staff still has only had since last December to even have a chance to talk to these recruits on behalf of Tennessee. Sure Pruitt recruited a lot of the same players at Bama and Georgia that he is now but its going to take more results on the field and in the NFL Draft to show those same high-profile recruits that Pruitt and staff were the reason for their success and not the program that they coached for.
Really? You’re obviously just trying to instigate by saying something like “we didn’t get Wright” when it’s literally one week away from being done, and has looked that way for half a year. Don’t act like you didn’t know what you were doing
Yep, fine line.Agree, and I do see where you are coming from. Bama and WVU hanging around. I think he would have signed in the early period if he knew he was coming here.
- SimontonLots of discussion about where things stand with Henry To'oto'o and Chris Russell. Here's the latest from the VQ staff.
As @Lupovol noted in a thread earlier, Texas A&M has the momentum for Russell right now following Jimbo Fisher's in-home visit. There's a chance the 3-star linebacker could even visit College Station again unofficially this weekend. Tennessee is still working to get Russell and his family on campus this weekend, though. Things are very fluid there. Nothing is final as of Thursday morning. There are a lot of Volunteer folks in Dyersburg. Right now, the official visit is on pause. Tennessee is working to make sure it's not outright canceled. The Vols were right that A&M was their biggest challenger for Russell, but they underestimated the in-state linebacker's overall interest.
As for To'oto'o, the Vols are still scheduled to see the De La Salle linebacker today. Can they flip the momentum away from Washington and Alabama? That's going to be tough, as Nick Saban is also slated to go in-home with the 4-star California native.
I know this isn't the news y'all wanted to hear. But the that's the latest as of this morning.
