You see no difference in the rankings. Part of that is the services absolutely boost players if they commit to certain teams. Do you find our class as a whole disappointing? I don't. Despite what the services say, I think we got some talented players. They probably won't be immediate contributors, but they'll be great players before they leave here.
I doubt that Nico considers Tennessee without NIL. While I are disappointed that we didn’t get traction with more elite talent on the offensive side of the ball, I’m confident that Heupel knows how to score points with or without a Carnell Tate or Rueben Owens. The defensive haul we landed is very impressive, and if we get one or 2 stops vs USCjr, we’re in the playoff. I completely agree: we’ve got some solid contributors.

Our class is great. I think we have, for the most part, really good players. While you are right in that services do boost players if they commit to certain teams, many of these teams highest ranked players were already ranked high before the top teams offered them.

Maybe before they committed, but not before they offered. The services know who teams are interested in.

I do. I believe NIL plus a 12 team playoff will create more parity but I agree with @ACvol3 that it will take time.

We saw during the 4 team playoff years that recruits focus on what those top 4-5 programs were to hedge their bets on that spotlight. Now with 12, recruits can take a little more chance and still get that extra national exposure.

Are they? I guess not winning a NC could be considered trending down. They’re still winning 11+ games every season at the moment
They went from stomping Michigan to not. They went from absolute domination vs Big Slow schools to a lot of nail biters. OOC is really weak so hard to gauge there.

Like I said, slight down trend. We'll see after Georgia game, but my money is on them getting stomped.

Their national championship also seems like a long time ago....

Yeah I’m just not sure I consider that to be trending downward. I do think Michigan is about to reel off a healthy streak against them. But I also think OSU will still win 11+ games every year and be in the playoffs. It’s about to be 12 teams. So trending down in terms of not winning NCs, sure. Only 5 active coaches with a title and nobody believes Mack Brown or Jimbo is winning another.

Also believe UGA will physically dominate that game.

Yep. Fortunate to get into the playoffs. A win vs georgia would be huge for them.

Ryan Day hasn't won one either though

FTR, I think you will see this same trend at Alabama after Saban's gone. Talent will keep it riding high for a while, then a slow decline. Think Miami under Larry Coker.

After Saban leaves , you will see an epic Number of Ala players entering the portal. Even more than this year and they had a ton leave town.

Fickell may soon be a thorn in their side in years they have to play Wisconsin as well.

They are certainly not the invincible AL of the north the media tries to insist they are.

Ohio State should be in the playoffs every single year. They play one game per year where the other team has a decent amount of talent in comparison to them.
Yes, this is why they keep getting such good recruiting classes. Recruits realize the odds of the playoffs are good.

Of course it will. There are rises and falls with all programs. Not that long ago USC was invincible and Texas was a national power. Michigan is beginning to erode OSU. If PSU and a couple of other Big 10 teams would step up then that could get a lot more interesting.

Bama will be challenged when Saban is gone. UT isn't all that far from making life tough on UGA.

I remember at one point thinking the USC train would never stop. This Alabama run with Saban is the longest sustained run I’ve seen.
