‘23 CA QB Jaden Rashada

this is a very interesting case to pay attention to. i do not understand how a player can go in front of the NCAA and ask for a release of his NLI on the premise that he was promised 13 million (or it dont matter if it were 50 cents) by a collective and they reneged so he wants out of his commitment to the school, which is supposed to have nothing to do with the collective offereing deals. and surely if he gives them some BS story as to why he wants out, how do they not say "yeah, we read the news and your name has been all over it". people may say this is the wild west of recruiting, but if there is some way to tie the collectives offer to the school as a pay for play, by the letter of the law, you have recruiting violations and one has to wonder, especially with the reputation of the NCAA being shotty at best, if they are not looking for a slam dunk case to use as an example to bust somebody just to try and show everyone they are not toothless.
Simple, really. He doesn't go to the NCAA to ask for anything. They have nothing to do with his release from UF. That's between UF and the player. And they'd look even more like losers if they refused. Imagine what that says to recruits? Hey, we promised one thing, didn't follow through, AND we're going to hold you to your NLI. Nobody would chance getting shafted like that.

Edit for clarity: The NIL is between private entities and the player. If they do not come through for their team with what was promised, I totally understand the recruit telling *ANY* team to F off for it. 13m or a fiver, doesn't matter.

Michigan and Tennessee demanded change - and it worked

lol, and NOW they support our Schiano revolt.....
One of their posters said we ended up with the Dooley because of the Schiano revolt. Uh… no, not even close. We almost ended up with the pirate - a much more exciting hire - and then got Pruitt instead. Regardless, with Schiano we probably would’ve ended up exactly where we are anyway.

That is what I’ve been wondering about. Did part of the holdup about paying Rashada come from the fact that they have Lagway commited for next year? Why would you want to commit that much money for back to back 5 star QBs? Especially if they see Lagway as the superior prospect (which in my opinion he is).

Either way, a terrible look for Florida.

We could look at it another way. Better to recognize a mistake and correct the issue as soon as possible than continue through with a bad idea. This entire system leads to this sorta thing.

How many years has Sander's son got left? Daddy's boy is not getting benched.

He anointed him starter without even giving the others a shot. Reminded me of daddy ball in youth sports.
He's got two more years . He'll be a junior this fall.

Colorado is trash, Deion ain’t sugar coating it. That roster is 💩 and he’s bringing in better players (via portal & ‘23 class). And there’s a lot of people on here that hate on Deion. Yal keep hating and watch him pile up dubs in the bad pac 12 😂. Not saying they will be pac 12 champs or anything, but they will be a lot better program

Wo now. Didn't mean to strike a nerve.

I don't really care if they are good or not. Was just taken aback by him awarding the job to his son before he even set foot on campus. That mindset is exactly the same as the folks I described.

As far as folks hating on him, there are at least as many taking your line. Ya know, opinions and such. Merca

They could also use some more fans. You should root for them with your massive Sanders hard on.

😂 its ok that you’re a Deion hater. Keep your “hard on” being a hater. I’ve never been able to relate, sitting back hating and waiting for another grown man to fail. Good luck with that miserable lifestyle bub.

I see a lot of people suggesting Colorado as a landing spot for this kid.

Deion is doing a good job of strengthening what was an atrocious roster, but I don’t see this kid ending up in Boulder. He likely would have to sit for two seasons behind Deion’s kid. My gut tells me that Rashada wouldn’t go for that.

Washington makes a lot of sense for this kid. Sit behind Penix for a season, then take the bull by the horns in 2024. Probably comes down to who pays the most in the end, though.

Appears to me there are a lot of people loving on Deion and putting him up on a gigantic pedalstool. He has nothing to do with Tennessee so I don’t care. But he really seems to polarize people.

Probably

“probably comes down to who pays the most”… yeah I don’t see how you could look at it any other way. And I can’t see that somebody being Colorado. If I’m guessing it’s still going to be Arizona St, Cal, Washington, or someone people aren’t really talking about who I see as a possibility…LSU.
Either way it’s getting really hard to feel bad for this kid. At least if the rumors are true about him taking the 6 milli from Miami and making Florida pay that money back plus another 7 milli in NIL (13 total). And if he’s expecting another school to pay back that 6 plus pay him a big $$$ than he’s going to be up a creek. But who knows what’s true at this point.
