‘23 CA QB Nicholaus Iamaleava (Tennessee)

I’m ready to blow a load

If Nico signs with UT for the reported $8 mil, everyone will assume he will be the starter so how do the coaches get and keep a good backup QB. Does Tayven Jackson stay? How much do you have to pay Nico's backup? This paying a recruit a huge amount to sign will have other implications that I have not heard people discuss? Just curious what your thoughts are.
Yes because that is against the NCAA rules.
Nobody is paying him to sign with UT.
He will be getting paid big $$$ for an NIL deal

It doesn't state that, at all. He makes a general comment that states he wouldn't allow a contract that would bind the client after the relationship ends. It doesn't address that there could be stipulations in ending the contract. There very well could be and probably are stipulations on ending the contract. Are you sure you are a lawyer?
But we know the following, which is in the article:

"the contract explicitly states, “nothing in this Agreement constitutes any form of inducement for (the athlete) to enroll at any school and/or join any athletic team.” There is no mention of any specific university, only that he be “enrolled at an NCAA member institution and a member of the football team at such institution,” ostensibly to avoid violating the NCAA’s pay-for-play rule."

So we know they can't turn around and make enrolling or staying a particular school a condition of payment under the contract or an event triggering some sort of penalty/punitive measure.

Yeah

yeah but they can make all opportunities revolve around Knoxville if he wants to make the 2 million per year following. They can make every appearance be in the TN area and if he goes somewhere else then logistically he would be unable to fulfill the nil requirements to get the rest of the money. There is some way to work the paperwork that ties them to the school without physically saying it.

I listened to Athletic Pod with Ari Wasserman (younger guy tied to OSU) and you could hear his brain exploding with the fact that this kid isn’t picking one of his perceived top 5-10 programs cause he’s so focused on only the playoff era. Love that the haters have to deal with it!

He better get used to it. There's going to be a lot more teams start popping up. We will be one of them after we Texas A&M the hell out of a couple classes. Especially with this staff and the way they scheme.
