‘23 CA QB Nicholaus Iamaleava (Tennessee)

Guy has 250 subscribers. Relax. He's getting as much traction here, as he does anywhere else. I actually can't believe the run VN is giving him...well, maybe i can. My God, people.
250 subscribers is 249 too many. I understand if his Mom subscribes

It’s not the hate vs TN that bothers me. It’s how much of an idiot he sounds like

This deserves its own thread. UK football just reached its apex. They really can't go any higher. They do not have enough instate talent. They aren't going to beat UT, UGA, Bama, Clemson, Bama, et al for players across the south or national recruits. At their apex and during a historic dry period for UT football... UK has gone 3-11 vs the Vols.

They know so much about QB's... they were all gungho about their "stud" transfer from Penn State. Their passing O was still bad and their O overall was mediocre.

Nico has the potential to be great. Not good. Great. This guy fears that and rightly so. But what he should fear more is the very high likelihood that Nico helps pull a lot of very talented players to UT in this class.

If Nico turns out to be overrated... then you have Jackson. You have the 24 signee. You have any number of transfers who will want to operate a Heupel O loaded with talent.

I never really hated UK football before... but I think I'm going to enjoy dominating them completely again.

This guy is a nobody who's offering click-baith trash takes to try to build a following. The more people talk about it, the more they're giving him what he wants. Just roll your eyes, point at the scoreboard, and go on with your life, amigo.

Very true. 😂

Yes, a COMPLETE idiot...that's why I can't believe ya'll are wasting your time commenting about his dumb ass.

So, do we know the contractual details yet?

The contract can't solidify him to UT, but do we know how it is worded to discourage any and all thought that he goes somewhere else?

No, and I'm guessing we never do. Nobody's business what my contract is at work either.

Edit: Do we know what any of our current players contracts with spyre say? I haven't seen any #s, only rumors.

They're scared

According to this article, coaches everywhere are freaking out. Tennessee just put the rest of College football on their heels. Few programs can both carry a big stick AND have the ability to swing it like UT.

They will come after us, they will try at least. Hopefully the contract is water tight, and we have the NIL answer that recruits are looking for.

Swain said it for months, when the dust settles, Tennessee will be a top 10 NIL school.

The fact that the NCAA is already up in our business at present for other matters is somewhat concerning, from a bureaucratic standpoint it's generally easier to expand an existing investigation than start a new one. They better go after A&M first though, we didn't start this fire (though we did ignite it, we tried to fight it, lol).

Also what gives me a little comfort. We aren't in a position to screw up. With solid new leadership from the top down, I think they made sure they got this right. I just hope there isn't some BS ruling we get hit with because so few really understand how to navigate NIL.

Nobody is worried but you…that says something

The article rightly states that the NCAA has lost its bite and is scared to pursue these things unless it's absolutely blatant. Their next court appearance will likely end in an antitrust judgment, so they're not keen on being he bulldog here.

If the contract isn't tied to signing with a particular school, even if it all but ties them to city, then I doubt NCAA tries to come after UT.

Hopefully we will be a top 5 NIL school.

Only if Tayven Jackson Allows it.....Big Assumption on your Part.....Transfer Portal.....Time will tell.....
I’m not making any assumptions. I really wanted input from others here who they believe has the more upside.

Edit: I wasn’t thinking about the transfer portal when I made the post.

Seen a few posts (mostly in the FF, sorry...) with the typical "well, 5-stars can still be busts..." tripe, and wanted to check out the success rates of players of Nico's caliber. Important to note, he's not just a 5-star, top-30 player. He's a consensus 5-star, consensus top-5 player. Here are the only QB's that had an equal or higher rating coming out of high school since 2005.

2005: Mark Sanchez
2006: Matthew Stafford
2007: Jimmy Clausen
2007: Ryan Mallett
2008: Terrelle Pryor
2009: Matt Barkley
2009: Russell Shepard
2016: Shea Patterson
2016: Jacob Eason
2018: Trevor Lawrence
2018: Justin Fields
2020: Bryce Young
2021: Caleb Williams

Put any one of those guys (except Shepard) in Heupel's offense and they'd be successful. Now add in the likelihood of some top-tier WR's coming with Nico and it gets even better.
