‘23 CA QB Nicholaus Iamaleava (Tennessee)

2 of his TOA 7on7 teammates play with Long Beach Poly.

However,....I could see him sitting out because what would that be like going to high school and you're a millionaire?😐.

That's a lot of drama waiting to happen, potentially...
He would need to transfer to an IMG to lessen that type of situation.
He's not a millionaire...yet. The upfront money he got to sign was around $300k apparently...and that's not considered a lot of money where he lives in CA.

Rumors going around Nico isn't playing this year. Anyone else heard this?
It’s gonna start happening more often with NIL money. Kids don’t wanna risk injury. Gonna suck.

NOT saying this about Nico specifically……. but any player that skips out on a season would raise a red flag to me.

I doubt very seriously this kid skips his senior season. He skipped 7 on 7 to be there for his volleyball teammates. Unless there’s an eligibility issue I can’t see him bailing on his team. Jmo though.

I don’t think I would like that because then we would probably only get two years of Nico instead of 3 because all he would do this year would probably red shirt

Yes, but what is more valuable? 2 years of Nico at his peak, or 3 years of Nico but he’s learning for an entire year. There is also no guarantee he takes the job as a true freshmen. I think getting him to campus a year early to learn the system, put on weight, and firing on all cylinders for 2023 would be nice. He’d be much more prepared to take the reigns from Game 1. There are pros and cons to both scenarios though.

He is going to be here in December so he should have 8-9 months to prepare for the first game and add weight…which is plenty of time.

Nico is the perfect definition of what NIL is supposed to really mean IMO. Kid has the sway, looks, style and game to be easily used to promote your product. If Nico was walking around a mall in Knoxville, there's a good chance I'd recognize him, some of these other guys...not so much
He also speaks well so commercials are no issue either.
The other is Arch and a lot of that is because he's a Manning and can appear in commercials with his family
