I think Miami is gonna crash & burn on some of their NIL promises.
It's an away game. That Hawaii team they are playing also will travel to Las Vegas to play a team there. It happens a lot out here.True. Just thought that’s a helluva trek for a high school game.

St. Louis in Honolulu is always play some west coast power, and other Hawaiian schools have done similar. University of Hawaii should honestly be a stronger program. For the conference they play in anyway.
It's very strange to me too! I don't know why Hawaii is not better..If I was a good HS player, I would take Hawaii over OSU, Michigan, Penn State , Oklahoma any day. Live in a tropical paradise vs a shithole for 4 years. I don't get it! If you are truly good enough, the pros will find you! Look how many pros are from small colleges.
Living in Hawaii, unless you're very wealthy, is different from vacationing there - staying in a condo, going to the beach every day, dining in expensive restaurants overlooking the ocean, deep sea fishing, etc. Many parts of Hawaii are like living in the 3rd world. If I was a good HS player, I would take Hawaii over OSU, Michigan, Penn State , Oklahoma any day. True, but not where the University of Hawaii is located. Anyway, after living in third world countries for 12 years, I kinda liked it in some ways.
Honestly, most people don't realize just how nice some parts of the third world are. There are countries you would never guess are third world and you can live like a king on a fraction of the price as compared to here. Once you get in your mind that you will have to sacrifice a few cultural comforts... Third world living can be a VERY good living.
Planning on moving to one actually.

I think you're right, the players don't have to pay for a place to stay or their meals, so that shouldn't really matter. And it costs nothing to go to the beach or go surfing. You would think it would be ideal for a student athlete.True, but not where the University of Hawaii is located.
