It did come off a bit odd, but to be fair his FICTION take and following comments aren't exclusive either, logically speaking.Price says FICTION and then spends the entire rest of the post explaining why Tennessee DOES in fact seem to have an edge right now. He points out, as common sense would dictate, that nothing is even close to a done deal. But the question was not whether it was a done deal. Just if UT had a slight edge right now.
You can take each part of what he says, without believing there is a percentage edge for us. Maybe he thinks it's something like Oregon and UT 35%/35% and the other 2 (plus randos) taking up the other 30%. That would constitute a "real threat" and a majority percentage going to SEC teams, regarding the "prefer to play in the SEC"...without there being an edge for us at the moment.
You'd think he has as good of a feeling of this kid's situation as anyone among the recruiting arena. It seems he is telling people to not go overboard just yet. And that seems pretty darn rational in a 4-way race. It's certainly possible no team, even the plurality leader, has a majority lead at this point.
Think we'll know a LOT more once he takes his other trips and (hopefully) comes back for the O&W scrimmage. Bama and UGA visits are no joke...just hope we can remind him how they're salivating over Arch and we're all-in on him.
