‘23 CA QB Nicholaus Iamaleava (Tennessee)

Gotta wonder if Riley has an impact on this guy now. I know it's been said that he wants to head south, but LR may change the narrative back in Cali

Here's a September article about Lamaleava in the local paper. Sounds special enough for an all out effort similar to Stu Aberdeen's pursuit of Bernard King ( Downey Embassy Suites < than a mile away) More seriously, I imagine Lincoln Riley will be on this kid like a fly on chit. It's only 16 miles from Downey Warren HS to the USC campus. But then again, a lot of LA quarterbacks have recently gone east.

Riley already has his QB for that class. Iamaleava wants to play is SEC

Getting this kid because of his actual talent would be great, but I think the greater impact is that it would send a message to the rest of the country that once again UT is recruiting nationally, and at a high level. We have to get that swagger back…
Getting a 5* QB in the boat early isn't just huge for the obvious reasons. It's also huge for perception of other top recruits.

Go Voles? Well, there's time to work on that if he commits.

I think there's a lot going in our favor here.

I think he's the best QB prospect in the class, and I think a lot of other programs are going to spend a lot of time and resources in the Arch sweepstakes and we could benefit from making this kid the priority.
I think Dante Moore is better but "Iamaleava" at that.

Honestly, though I'll be happy to get either one.

I actually think Dante Moore is better from an immediate impact perspective cause he’s built better and Nico needs to gain a bit of weight, but I think Nico’s ceiling is higher
Disagree, look at Trevor Lawrence. He was a rail at Clemson his freshman year and was fine. This kid is 210-215 right now so he'll probably be 220-225 by the time fall of 2023.
