I'm excited for our RBs but we have none proven. We honestly do not know if they will be any good or consistent.

And tell me why he would consider going to a place NCAA could possibly destroy, certainly damage at the least?

Because his dream is probably playing in the NFL. And that means getting stats and playing time on video. No one gives a damn about the NCAA or some meaningless bowl game.

I didn’t say we didn’t. I understand the holes on defense. But if there aren’t players worth a damn in the portal at those positions, why take them?
Why take anyone you don't see as a major contributor? Having an open spot doesn't mean you HAVE to use it now. You can push it forward. So if there's no one you like at the positions you need, or no major playmakers wanting to come (think Arik Gilbert), you just hold on to that spot for the next class. And, let's not forget, kids are not done entering the portal. I believe they have until July 1st this year. So the coaches are probably waiting to see who else might become available.

He would be a major contributor, by far the most experienced in the room

This is true but I'll say it now, Small is gonna be our best RB in a long time and will thrive in our offense. Have high hopes for Evans as well. Will be a great 1-2 punch

I do the like what I've seen from Small in the small sample size. I really think Evans can be our guy but I guess we'll see. I'm very interested in seeing how they use Beckwith

I think Small is gonna be flat out solid. Not flashy, but he runs smart and he gets yards.

Evans and Beckwith are the most intriguing. They look like they could range from dominate to disappointing.

Jaylen Wright is really fast. Looked real comfortable in the spring game. Hard to see him not get any playing time.

It will be very interesting to see how they use all our backs.

Heck Tee Hodge looked good, Fred Orr and Pierce did as well.

That is what happens when you hire a competent offensive line coach. Can not wait to see Will Friend do for Auburn what he did for UT.
