Cade Mays

You can look it up yourself bro, there's more than one person saying this now. I did start the post off by saying "rumor". TIFWIW

I'm by no means in the sunshine pumping crowd and wanted to be neutral and lay off bashing this year willing to accept several losses or expecting several losses. This is the most solid recruit UT has and CBJ's own blood son plays on the same team as Cade.

I feel the offense need fixin. I'M well aware that Jones is offense-minded and actually believes in his system. It's repeatedly been demonstrated to fail in the SEC. Every DC on every team we are gonna face is gonna go all out to stuff Kelly. We're too easy to read and it's worse when QD doesn't even look off a safety.

Perhaps this is the wake-up call, (if true), that many of those still clinging to keep Butch need. I know for a stone-cold fact that Coach Riley from Okla. wants Martinez. His film looks great. I did expect some of our prospects to start reconsidering. I ask that you accept my apology and I don't care if the tweet exist because I was expecting something of this sort to occur anyway.

Recruits see the writing on the wall. Currie will screw this up and this class will utterly fall apart.

If Currie allows us to lose a guy like Mays, then he can pack his bags along with Butch and hit the freaking road.

Werent you the guy calling everyone low class?

I mean who are you going to get in the middle of the season that's not named Chip Kelly? No coach is going to leave their team in the middle of the season.

Well...Petrino prolly would...but I would much rather have Chip.

It would be devastating. This isnt some kids from out of nowhere committing to UT. This is a kid that is a 5 star NFL talent, life long vols fan. This kid wavering should be major news.

I dont follow recruiting at all, like none and even i know this kid.

And at the end of the day, he's still having to make a decision that will affect the rest of his life. I'm sure he loves the Vols but at the same time, he has his future and his career to think about. IF true, he's just doing the smart thing here folks. Lets not jump off a bridge just yet.

This is exactly correct. I would consider it foolish not to open up now to secure a spot somewhere I really wanted to go. I know he loved Clemson and the coaches there. He can always flip back later if he feels good about where UT is.

I would question the intelligence of any sought after recruit who doesn't open up his recruitment in a situation like this.

Really, some teams can only recruit so many players depending on how many scholarships they have available and it's something these recruits have to consider. Losing really sux.

There will more. Players read message boards. They see the hate being spewed at the Butch Jones, and even his wife.

Some current players will also be transferring. Do you want to lose Trey Smith? It's possible.

Tennessee will be in another 5 year rebuilding plan if Butch is fired.

All they wanted was a tub of Barb's Chip Dip. Thats all. Good job, negas.

You think these guys are transferring or decommitting because they know Butch is being fired rather than because of how bad he is? Especially Mays... he’s being recruited by Butch so he must have believed it. I don’t know, just trying to read into something that may or may not be there.

Cade's dad was a really good offensive guard for us, he knows football. I'm sure he can watch the game and see how poorly the Oline is being coached.

To all of those saying its better to wait until the end of the season to cut Butch....
this is why I disagree!!!
get a name in that the recruits can get excited about. make them wanna join the big orange.

stalling the Jones firing and hiring a mid major "with promise" isn't going to cut it
Exactly

Ah, didn’t know that. Sad day for us. Hopefully someone can salvage this class.

This is exactly what needs to happen to force moves

It’s actually quite the opposite. These kids are opening up recruitment bc of fear Butch is being fired. He recruited them. They want to play for him, not the next coach.

Or they saw that pile of sh1t we laid on the field this past Saturday and want no part in it.

Cade doesn't want to play for CBJ. He wants to play for Tennessee. He was born a Tennessee guy and bleeds orange. If he opens it up, it will be because he wants to make sure he's happy with the new staff and state of the program when it's all said and done. All IMO.

That’s counterintuitive. If he wants to play for TN, wouldn’t matter who the coach is.

If Currie has full support as JAV is saying, why the hell is he allowing Butch to remain coach as we speak? Is that part of the grand plan- make fans and players more miserable, risk more transfers and decommitments, and then when we get smoked by Alabama - then fire him?
