No. As evidenced today, USC's loss to Washington was their typical inexplicable loss to a middle of the road Pac-10 team. They will still win the conference title outright, and beat Ohio State again in the Rose Bowl, but by a lot more this time. Oregon played awesome today, but played completely out of their minds. They are not that talented.WOW.....Cal got HOUSED. How can you basically not even show up for one of your biggest games of the year? Oregon has to be the favorite in the P10 now right, or at least the undisputed #2 behind SC. SC looks like a totally different team with Barkley back there. They will be tough to beat again.
1. Lots of typical Pac-10 fans today... Homerism is expected. Walking around tailgates hearing stuff like "SEC is overrated." My response: "Yes, and yet still the best conference around."
Just got home. Face is sunburnt to all hell.

2. I really, really hope Duck fans en masse don't start expecting a Rose Bowl now. Oregon played out of their mind. Had a good home field (my ears are still ringing -- a lot) and Cal couldn't have played worse... I'll call this one more of a Cal loss than an Oregon win. IMO Ducks should be happy with a Holiday Bowl appearance. They still have one of the most inexperienced o-lines in college ball.
3. All the Cal fans were exceptionally graceful. I didn't see one leave Autzen until after the game was over, they all congratulated the Duck fans around them. Very classy.

Classy post. :ermm:
If Oregon really was as talented as they looked yesterday, they would have won handily at Boise State. Be happy with a Holiday Bowl appearance, that's the best you will get. USC still has far and away the most talent in the Pac-10. It will prevail. If Barkley is healthy, USC should win at both Cal and Oregon.
By your logic, Tennessee has no talent because they haven't played very well and they will not progress to being any better than they are now with more experience, coaching changes, confidence, etc. No reason to watch any more games until they cycle in all new players that have talent.
You pointed it out yourself, Oregon's o-line didn't have much experience. So, it shouldn't be surprising that they wouldn't have played as well at BSU but are coming together as a unit after some game experience. Teams with a lot of talent are sometimes out of sync. Teams with a lot of talent sometimes get things in sync and start playing well. Happens all the time and is why we watch the games.
In any event, it's fun to read between the lines here and learn that you picked the wrong team to side with yesterday and got your expectations smoked too.
Keep doubting the Ducks. No sweat off my back.
Keep disappearing until your Ducks actually win a game. No sweat off our backs. We can only hope Oregon loses out this year so we don't have to see you around.
Oregon State? Who just lost to Arizona. Ok... Cal and USC both have a conference loss. Oregon does not. You can speculate about what you think will happen. But, the fact remains that, at this point in time, Oregon controls it's destiny in the Rose Bowl hunt and the two teams you put above them do not. They need other teams to lose in order for them to get there.
If Oregon squeaked out a win in questionable fashion as they did against Purdue and Utah, I might agree with your point. However, they completely dominated the 6th ranked team in the nation. If that isn't an indication that a team is progressing, I don't know what other evidence would be. It's possible that the o-line could falter in some future game. However, that is your speculative doubt. There is just as much reason to believe that they won't falter as there is to believe that they will.
As far as leaving Dickson on the line for pass blocking, I suppose anything is possible. However, in the history of Chip Kelly designing offensive schemes at Oregon, I have never seen him keep tight ends at the line for more than a few plays, under any circumstances. Kind of goes against the entire concept of the spread-to-run offense. Besides that, Dickson had a great game but passes were spread around to others as well. He's not the entire passing game.
