Cal to Arkansas

Giving you some facts, ace. I can't help it if facts bother you.
Funny you donā€™t respond to the complete destruction of your ā€œfactsā€
Danny White isnā€™t going to hit 100% on hires, but his history is pretty darn good. You canā€™t use Bobby Hurley against him at ASU because Danny White hired him at Buffalo, a totally different situation. You canā€™t say that White would have hired him if he was the AD at ASU.

White hit on Hurley, Oats, Leipold, Scott Frost, and Heupel at his universities. Very good record.

And Butch had good seasons like Heupel? Haha, thatā€™s hilarious. Heupelā€™s second best season in three years is equal Butchā€™s best season in five years.

White has also hired coaches for womenā€™s soccer and cross country at UT, and they appear to be solid so far.

I will say that there are very few names that actually scare me at Kentucky, and most of the names on that list are highly unlikely.

Dan Hurley and Jay Wright arenā€™t taking that job like Kentucky fans think.

The only ā€œrealisticā€ name that scares me is Nate Oats. If it ends up being Scott Drew, thatā€™s fine by me.
winner winner. Dan Hurley would slaughter...but he appears to be in a pretty good spot.

Well if half of this is true then I understand why Big Blue Nation is dancing in the streets. And I wonder if Arkansas really checked out whatā€™s been going on at KY for the last several years. What a mess. We have been really blessed to have Rick Barnes.

Pretty much sums up my thoughts:
I just find it oddly satisfying and comical that this all started with Rob Lanier, a former Tennessee assistant coach getting fired from SMU and landing at Rice.

Led to the USC coach leaving for SMU and Muss from Arkansas to USCā€¦ and now Cal to Arkansas.

Cal will do well at Arkansas. Arkansas just upgraded their coach and Kentucky will make an upgrade as well. The SEC just keeps getting tougher.

The way Cal recruits, he fields teams that have a large number of 1st year players starting. That really hurt UK the last two years because those talented freshmen were playing against 5th and 6th year seniors. That won't be the case anymore. So, I think UK would have been more competitive in the coming years with Cal at the helm. If UK gets Hurley, they upgrade. If they settle for #2, maybe not.

i do believe that kentucky will find out what other teams such as alabama football, Tennessee womens basketball, just to name a couple (and it is not ragging on either one), found out, and that is that while your job is still a good job, no job anymore is head and shoulders above the rest. back in the 80's and early 90's you did have a few universities that really priotitized putting resources in sports and those jobs were the ones people would leave any job for. But as the 2000's came along, it seems almost every team started putting the necessary resources in to their athletic teams and now today you see a league like the SEC have legitmitely 14 of the 16 teams that seem willing to spend whatever it takes to be competitive. Yeah, kentucky is a desirable job, but you are not going to see coaches on stable ground leave a school like alabama, auburn, Tennessee, or even south carolina leave just because kentucky calls. 30 years ago kentucky could offer something those schools couldnt, but today they are on the same ground as kentucky, some may say kentucky is behind them. they will probably get a good coach, it just may not come off their "A" list

Kentucky fans will soon be calling for Matt Jones to leave as well. Talk about a scumbag

Muss got out of there with a quickness too.

Calipari is a handful and a half, but I think he will do well at Arkansas. It was time for a change of scenery for both him and Kentucky. Now, I hope Kentucky hires a dimwit to replace him, but it was time for the two sides to part ways.
