6-6..... LOL!!
The Vols open the season with 4 home games for the first time that I can remember. If the Vols were playing a high flying passing attack from the Pac-10, I would feel a little concerned about the first game. However, Cal relies heavily on the run game. The Vols will be 2-0 when Florida comes to Knoxville (after beating Cal and Air Force). I'm still not convinced that Florida's offense is going to work in the SEC. The Vols could stumble, but I expect a win here, just like when they play Marshall. That puts the Vols at 4-0 heading to Athens. The Dawgs are replacing a quarterback as well as alot of other talent. The Vols could easily win this one. Then its 2 weeks to prepare for the team that Fulmer pretty much owns... Alabama. The Vols should be 6-0, at least 5-1 when they head to South Carolina. Again, like Florida, South Carolina's offense has not got me convinced they are "awesome" as some contend. The Vols then get LSU at home, Arkansas and Vandy on the road, and Kentucky at home.
The Vols finish no worse than 9-3 in the regular season. Possible losses are Cal, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, and LSU. However, the probability of losing all 6 are even more slim than winning all 6.
The toughest test of all may the road game against South Carolina.
