Are you saying that sex outside of marriage should be illegal? What is the difference in a Man or Woman that screws everyone that buys them a steak dinner and one that does it for cash?

It is also (don’t know about male-male prostitution, but I’m sure it’s similar).. the people who are prostituted are marginalized people who likely were and are being abused and at the minimum are not psychologically healthy. There is nothing empowering about it, for a woman, at least doing this would be humiliating if you were not on drugs, which likely they are… it is sad, these women did not grow up thinking , ‘hey, I’d like to be a ho’… there should be more effort put into getting them out of that life than legalizing it

That’s apples and oranges there.. there is also not disparity in power.. if you are a loose girl and sleep with everyone who buys you dinner (bitter much?) you can say no and not get beat up.. power

I am saying prostitution should be illegal, but if you want to go stricter I will hear you out.

Adults can still have sex with whomever they choose and there are no limits placed on that by govt. That does not change and can have the exact same negative effects. Why does the exchange of money suddenly change the act into an illegal one? Because that's the only difference

I wont pollute this thread with gay marriage debate, but the change of money makes it illegal because it becomes prostitution which is predatory and abusive to those who are forced into it (very few chose to such work).

No, I actually it should be like any other business. Regulate and tax. I have no desire to use a prostitute, but I also don't feel like it isn't my place to decide if you can.

I think you read that wrong.

I am saying that if you sleep with every guy that buys you a steak that you are a prostitute. Just a different form of payment.

You should always protect those who are vulnerable and need protected. However, not every prostitute needs protected. Do you have the same views on other sins? Should you not protect an obese child from McDonald’s?

On its face, I disagree with government being involved. However, after Looking at some of the stats on rape and assault on legal prostitutes, I don't think we should encourage it as a viable occupation. Leave it illegal, but it's going to happen whether it is legal or not, so maybe encouraging social groups to do more is the best answer.
