Ahh you think that's a laugh right? You do know PG&E fully comped to starting teh fires through smart meters in the paradise fires right? And that one of the ladies working there, at pG&E was in charge of the water, or rather there being no water in this fire right? LOL yeah that's funny stuff right? Dumb***

Strange isn't it?

not really. its basic material science.

A full sized tree is difficult to burn down. even in the past wildfires, the bottom 5-10 feet burn, but the rest of the tree is fine, and it keeps living. The thickness of the tree creates a char layer, that the fire can't penetrate. a lot of tree barks in areas hit by a lot of wild fires are particularly good at charring to protect the tree from burning the rings or core. Building codes account for this, "heavy timber" usually over 8" in thickness, is considered much safer than "stick built" with 2x. you can even build high rises with them now without added fire protections in some states.

now for houses burning from the inside out, what is likely happening is the fire hits one side of the house, and finds or creates an opening to the inside. All of those plastics in the house? Those burn like crazy. you can even get "spontaneous combustion" when things get hot enough for the plastics to ignite themselves without a source of flame. especially the furniture, polyesters burn like crazy while the old cotton or wool based fabrics take a lot longer to burn. faux leather vs real leather, the cheap particle board wood vs full thickness hardwood furniture. again building codes are starting to recognize this. so once the fire gets into the house it finds a lot of things easy to burn up pretty hot, so you will see what started as an external fire end up with the house burning down from the inside.
