"A recent AAA study found that when the mercury dips to 20 degrees and the vehicle’s heater is in use, an average EV’s range drops by 41 percent. That means a model that’s rated to run for 150 miles at a time would only reach about 88 miles before needing to be recharged. Hot weather also affects an EV battery’s performance, but to a lesser degree. When driven in temperatures of 95 degrees or above with the air conditioning running, an EV owner can expect its range to drop by an average of 17 percent."
Yikes
EVs are great if you are only using it for short commutes or with a Tesla trips under 100 miles one way. They are not road trip family roadsters or work vehicles that are on the road all day.
