So, you’re saying you’ve been indoctrinated? My wife and all my in laws went to Kentucky so I have had a steady diet of Calipari since he’s been at UK. I even listened to his podcasts. I find he’s a good entertainer and I mostly enjoy listening to him. Although his podcasts are tough to take at times. He will ask a guest a question then proceed to spend 20 minutes talking all about himself. He’s always owned his losses and does it without throwing his players under the bus. And I think he does a great job as a teacher. Except for a few outliers all of his players seem to be quality individuals after they’ve left Kentucky. He’s ok in my book.
Amen. He has cheated big time in the past. There may be those who believe otherwise, but I say they are wrong.I only like Cal to the extent that Barnes regularly out coaches him. Otherwise I will never like any active Kentucky coach, or any active Memphis coach for that matter. Once he moves on from Kentucky, I'll have a better opinion of him.
My dislike for Cal has lessened over time since his Memphis days to the point that I find him rather likable, now. And you're right, he is a straight shooter.
Yeah I think he noticeably put a stop to his d bag antics once he moved over to UK. He was definitely a prick at times while at Memphis.Agreed. I hated the guy at Memphis.
GBO!!
Yep, it certainly helps that Barnes has gone toe to toe with Cal at Kentucky. If he were beating our brains in consistently, none of us would be on here saying things like, Cal is an ok guy. We’d all be talking about what a slime ball he is.If he knew then what he knows now…….he might have said “man you don’t want that job.”
